PostSubject: Impala SS (and others) seat backrests   Wed May 14, 2014 11:00 pm

Potentially dumb query here but what the hell-

Does anyone know if the seatbacks in the 91-96 cars are interchangeable from driver's side to passenger side?  Or the skins?

The driver's seatback in the SS has a small worn spot down low on it that I don't want to get huge, so I didn't know if I'd have any luck in case I ever stumbled upon a pass. seat or something.  Other things to deal with right now but I was looking at it earlier and figured I'd ask. Laughing

I don't know what specific seats they were but a long time ago in forum far far away I seem to remember someone installed a passenger cover on the driver's seat. I remember him commenting on the hole for the recliner lever. Could be I remember it all wrong too.

YES. The seat backs are the same, driver, passenger, doesn't matter.

Thanks guys, good to know. The one in the car isn't really terrible and while the seat bottom doesn't look brand new it doesn't have any rips in it...so obviously it's not on the front burner. I thought the seatbacks looked the same but I wasn't sure. I bet I could slip the leather off one seat and put it on mine while it's still in the car...lol
