NOW THAT THAT'S OUT OF THE WAY, ONTO THE DESCRIPTION:
BODY/CHASSIS
Up for auction is one original 1990 Chevy Caprice 9C1 Police car. This car was originally used by the California Highway Patrol before being retired for civilian duty. As such it offers many desirable features such as heavy duty suspension, sway bars front and rear as well as an excessive number of fluid coolers. The body is pretty straight save for a couple of small dings and notably rot free having spent most of its' life in CA. The frame has some scale and a couple of small soft spots near the rear bumper being that the vehicle was not factory undercoated but no major problems (please see undercarriage pictures for close ups). The interior is complete minus the seats and a pair of front buckets from a Subaru Legacy Sport are included. Additionally the previous owner had buckets in it so a set of custom brackets are already installed in the car.
DRIVETRAIN
The original TBI 350 was replaced by the previous owner with a 305 4 barrel out of an 85 Monte Carlo. I was told the motor has eighty-some-odd-thousand miles on it. I have not heard it run but it turns over good and has strong compression. TO BE RUNNING IT NEEDS: distributor installed/timed (included in trunk picture), exhaust manifolds installed (included in trunk picture), exhaust (not included) and a fuel pump (included in trunk picture). Being that this car was originally TBI it does have an electronic in tank pump that will either need to be removed or hooked to a regulator (not included) to be used with the carb. Everything to convert to a manual pump is included (you guessed it, trunk picture) using the existing lines (may be missing some fittings though). Beyond that it needs a weekend of your time. The transmission is the original 700R4 overdrive unit with a shift kit installed.
EXTRAS
In addition to the car itself I'm including some aftermarket cool stuff that I've acquired along the way. My original intent was to make this into a long distance road rally car to go cannonballing with an LS1 and blacked out like an undercover so many of them were intended to fit that flavor: Police spotlight, Whelen Siren/Barker with Public Address feature and dual speakers (it's loud and REALLY fun to test out), CB Radio and an assortment of newer model flashers (one large double and a pair of smaller singles all tested good).
Overall 90% of the parts are there but it needs a new owner to put it over the top. I unfortunately have too many projects and the looming prospect of buying a house means I need to thin the herd."
