PostSubject: scored a 85 9c1 impala   Sun Apr 27, 2014 9:04 pm

Ive been watching this car on CL for a while, finally came down to 2500 obo so I grabbed it. car is very right and solid with 91k on it. was a detectives car until repainted for parade use in NJ and being sold at auction in 2010. The last owner removed the factory intake and computer carb pos. Car rips pretty damn good!
needs some dog dishes and a zombie response unit sticker.

shotgun holder works!! lol

Score! That's been a topic of conversation around here for quite a while, glad someone we know wound up with it. Very "To Live and Die in LA" there...lol

Sweet! I've wanted to jump on that for quite some time now. I didn't want it to get donked or derby'd. Please don't put zombie anything on this car. This is rare bird these days and should only receive respect of its bloodline. I really wanted to restore this car to period correct service. Anything else, in my opinion, is below this car. Glad you saved it. Hopefully you can bring it to a meet.

Was there a lot of body work done to it? It looks so clean!

Its not rotted but not as clean as it looks in the pictures. car was light blue originally and then got a very good respray to dark blue, then when it got sent over to be a  parade car the roof and doors were painted white{about 4 times!!} the doors and roof have a lot of old paint on them and its gotta go! this car is soo tight and solid! fleet maintained until 2010, still has city of Linden NJ municipal garage stickers under the hood. thinking about staying with the dark blue but its been on the road 1 day and the attention this thing gets in patrol colors is ridiculous! whens the last time anyone has seen an 85 impala 9c1? I know I haven't.

If that was my car I'd go with the zombie theme.

I'd call it Zeus,

Zombie Eradication Unit Sedan.

And remember; Never dispatch a zombie when you are alone unless there is an imminent and otherwise unavoidable threat of death or grave bodily injury. There may be possible legal, ethical, and moral implications without any witnesses.

I considered buying it, but he seller refused to send me a pic of the SPID code sticker so I moved on.  Fakes and movie cars are common.
Have you verified through the SPID codes that it's a true 9C1?
SPID/RPO codes are here: http://www.gmbbodyforum.com/t75-rpo-spid-codes-find-out-what-all-those-letters-and-numbers-mean?highlight=spid

I remember Matt posting that before. Note that toward the end of that scene, after they go up the do not enter, the traffic on the highway is going the wrong direct, no?

having a blast with this car!!! The SPID is indeed missing from the trunk, but every square inch of this car has little remnants of police goodies. City of Linden NJ municipal garage stickers under the hood and power blocks that are labeled radio and lights. Oil cooler and green hoses and an actual 350 engine instead of a 305 and it has the 8.5 rear. Certified speedo cluster too. Current plans include aftermarket 2.02 heads and a .500 lift cam other goodies too.

How often do you drive it around?

I wrote the guy that was selling that car an email a few months ago and he never got back to me, probably a good thing as I've got too many vehicles already. I agree with Brian on no zombie stuff and restoring it to its former glory. I would spec that thing out like a Detec car with navy blue paint and some dark tint with steelies and dog dish caps.
