I think you guys will get a kick out of this one....
I recently headed over to my buddies salvage yard with the intention of finding the cleanest, most unique shell I could find. Basically the game plan was to dig out a car to use as the "Demo" or rolling business card for my shop. Now that I am getting up to speed and taking on customers, I wanted something that speaks volumes about fabrication, and etc.
So....with that being said....I found this diamond in the rough! LOL
2005 Moon Stone Gray Pontiac Vibe AWD
The seats are missing, the wheels were gone, the HVAC controls are MIA and a few other miscelaneous things.....but overall it was an extremely solid piece with an amazing body. There isn't one dent on this thing, its cleaner then my daily driver Impala! lol
Anyways....I hunted around the yard for some 5x100 wheels, got her rolling again and pulled the motor, transmission, driveshaft, exhaust and a few other odds and ends...
....of course it goes out with the old....and in with the new right???
Stay tuned! This is going to get fun fast!

Good ol' Matrix LOL
I am going to use the IRS. The most challenging part of the sway will be the steering rack location.
I know it doesn't look like much right now....but have some faith.

Ha, wow.
I have to say I'm a little surprised that was in a yard. What was wrong with it in the first place? Those are supposed to be decent cars.

300+k miles. Motor was locked and the guy figured he got his value out of it. I was honestly surprised myself. Extremely clean car.

Some day. The b-body needs a lot of attention, and I really need to come up with a long term goal for the car.
Not to mention my Caprice is really special to me. Its not something I like to let other people drive, and I don't like racking up a ton of miles. This little pontiac is more of an experiment then anything to test my own skills. I can let my friends thrash it and if it breaks its not the end of the world.

Hey, as long as it's got an LSx in it, I'm cool with it. The more surprising, the better. Grab that Saturn behind it and I'll have you put an lq9 in it.

You can put Steak on cow shit, but the fact is, its still shit.
I don't care if you put a set of Warp Nacelles on it, its still not cool.

Ok, let me help get this back on track. Hey Brandon, I'm amazed how easily that engine fit in that bay. Maybe you should stuff an 8.1 in there to make it more difficult.

If you could get them for like 2500 bucks, I'd beat the crap out of a stock one of those with no engine swap or anything for a daily. It's like getting a Toyota Matrix without the ghey, stupid Toyota emblem, that should immediately be replaced on ALL vehicles with the simple TOYOTA nameplate they used in the 80s.
Shit's AWD and gets good MPG, who cares? A Subaru is definitely gayer than a Vibe is!
Unfortunately unlike Geos people still seem to want kind of a lot of money for them. My friend has 2 Prizms in his collection of random vehicles and box trucks, and he drives them probably the most. The older one he leaves parked with the doors unlocked since he simply doesn't care...it has like 280K miles on it, lol.

Ive been keeping quiet because it is going a different direction.
I really didnt want to cut up the front end to move the steering, build a column and etc....I essentially wanted to keep it a stock suspension car.
Long story short, I have acquired an LS4 and the car will maintain AWD with a 6spd. I will post some more updates when I compile some more parts.
Right now my priority is to get the Caprice done and make a pass before the seasons over.
