PostSubject: The great dellema ??    The great dellema ?? EmptyFri Oct 11, 2013 12:46 am

So I sold my 96 9c1........ I didn't want too but it was getting so rusted out in the back and front wheel wells so I let it go to some one who wanted to do that kind of body work.
So here I am looking for another daily driver.
Looked at few things a 85' gmc vandura 305 4bbl super mint no rust just a little fade in the paint
A 74' Buick century 350 2bbl don't know much have yet to see it but it is safetied so that's a plus..
A 71 caddy coupe deville (and the only reason I mention this is cause it awesome minty) if it didn't have a 472 in it I would have already bought this car but good looking no rust I just don't know any thing about these motors if you do please let me know .
And finally I Just found today a 95' Buick road master 80milles on it. And the thought of an lt1 is so good that I'm almost willing to do this all again lol
So any thoughts on all this??
Ps the only non classic I'm lookin at is a 98' monte with 3.8 and 120 miles on it
Thanks all for reading my rambleings all input is welcomed

If you buy the 71 deville you can always swap in a small block chevy.
472 is a monster of a motor, torque like you wouldn't believe.
I would definitely be interested in buying a 472 for my 55 caddy if for some reason you decided to go that route.

Get yourself a car with an inline 6, I'm telling you..... My 64 has a 230 and the thing has like 6 wires in the ENTIRE wire harness for the engine. They also run FOREVER!

There's a guy out my way with a '63 Chevy II nova hardtop with a 230, he's looking for $2500 or a trade, I didn't look at it in person but i bet he'd take alot lower. Check craigslist western MA.

I want that caddy!! I went and seen it again today but this time I heard it run and the whole bit, didn't have cash in hand tho so I never drove it. But sounds good and has a half descent exhaust system
Turns out the car was gold but was repainted red 15 years ago One spot on the passenger fender bubbling about 2x2 but the floor looks real good
It's just that engine ( this is suposed to be my daily driver ) I drive 40 miles to work one way
Any idea what that car would do on the highway??
And how to sell this idea to my wife!

Your looking at 8-10mpg, maybe as high as 14 highway if you keep it maintained and don't beat on it,
Also your gonna have to run premium gas to avoid detonation. Pre-73's are supposed to run leaded gas, but someone may have already don't the head work. Running the premium gas will help if you don't have the hardened valve seats.

Ha!! Premium I didn't even think of that and considering regular here is worth $5 a galon and primium is pushing $6 that could cripple me lol
I think the vandura or the Monte Carlo is going to win I want to go look at that century but it a few hours away from me
