PostSubject: Front window repair   Tue Jun 23, 2009 12:35 pm

Heres another problem, I finally got her on the road after sitting for twenty months with a blown tranny. The trans and the new converter are working great. I put the passengers window down, no problem, put it up Crying or Very sad
I believe the glass has seperated from the track, probably a broken clip. I know they sell kits for the rear but do they sell kits for the front windows? I had to repair the rears about seven years ago. Or does anyone have an easy fix?

Thanks Norm

It's either the slider broke or the switch is bad. In extreme cases it could be the motor that's dying. First thing to do is pop off the panel and check the sliders. If they are fine then try opening and closing the window with different switches. If it's still a no go then it's likely something more involved. For an example my passenger front won't go up from the passenger door switch but it goes up from the drivers switch.

The window does go up and down, but when i put it up it goes up crooked. I plan on taking a look at it this weekend, just wondering if this is a common issue. Thanks..

If it goes up crooked it's a broken slider. Most likely the front one. You can order the new rollers from a few different places but it's a pretty penny since they are sold at a few bucks each and they only come in a pack of 5. I just did all 4 windows a couple weeks ago and I ended up buying 2 packs of rollers for a total cost (with shipping) of almost $50 No

I just saw these on summit for like $5.85 when I was browsing thru 400 items that matched 96 impala ss. Other thing was a complete hose set for like $65 I thought that was a good price but theyre blue hoses (if your fussy)
