| So finally got to put the 95 caprice 9c1 from maine on the road drove it about 3 miles if that and it became very sluggish so I pulled into a parking lot and it died. The fuel gauge reads 1/4 tank, first thought maybe its off and I'm out of gas and added 3 gallons. still wouldn't restart but cranks like a champ towed it home hooked up fuel pressure gauge gets 0.0 can't hear the pump on keyed power. tried using the red pig tail next to the fuse block under the hood connecting to the battery still no response from the pump. replaced the ignition control module and coil from another 95 that worked fine but still no start just cranks. using a test light connecting to the black ground wire and the skinny purple wire on the pump harness car side and the light turns on with keyed power, so it gets power to the rear of the car. so next step replace the pump?? or is there another test to do before dropping the tank? Also best place to get a new pump and maybe straps for the tank they look a bit crusty? | |

| Besides beating the bottom of the tank to kick start the pump, no. Time for a tank drop! | |

| Ok so new pump is in the mail, (along with new tank straps they were really crusty) should have it by wednesday and I start my vacation week on sunday. I got them both from amazon with shipping was the same as getting just the pump from autozone. By the way both eta's for parts availability was the same day. Now wondering just how much fuel is in the tank if the guage was accurately reading a 1/4 tank when I added 2 more gallons or if its really off and only has 2 gallons currently, well I'll find out when it hits me in the head on sunday | |

| update on this one got the tank out in an attempt to remove the pump assembly had three of the six bolts just spin. So I couldn't open the tank any suggestions or am I just screwed on reusing this tank for future projects? In the mean time I've taken the working tank/ pump / sending unit from the parts donor and it runs great. When for an inspection and they caused an exhaust leak plugging the tail pipes for the safety test crap and failed the car for it! Just meant the car got new true dual pipes put in with flow master two chamber mufflers and no cats or resonators at the back a little earlier then originally planned Needless to say it sounds much better now and passed the states inspection. Can't wait to drive it around now | |
