If you scroll halfway down the page, you'll see the story I'm referring to, it always intrigued me. Never could find anything else out about it.
Just saw this story this week, guess it's true! http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2013/06/03/lifetime-collection-of-mom-n-pop-chevrolet-dealership-going-up-for-auction/
In this photo, there is a Chevy Citation, so it was in the early 80s. Yet there is a 77-79 Chevrolet still sitting hubcapless, new in front of the shop, and a Monte that may have been a year or two old as well. LOL http://images.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads//2013/05/LambrechtChevrolet_01_1500.jpg
You can see the 64 Impala in the front window in that pic as well, and it's still there with essentially no miles on it. http://images.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads//2013/05/LambrechtImpala_1600.jpg
Apparently this '57 Two-Ten has 33K miles on it and was a trade in. Most of the cars sitting outside are trade ins, but they had low miles and the guy just didn't do anything with them. Crazy.
Here's a link to an auction page, I just wish there were more photos of what is laying around there.

Haha, no problem. I've done some googling and have seen people mention they've known about it for years. Still no other pics though. I did find an article from the 90s mentioning how this guy was given crap by the town for having cars "littering" his property.
Now that I think of it, that pic where it shows outside the dealer could be 1980. I think the Citation was around then and the Monte still looked like that for 1980, it was reskinned in 1981. Maybe the blue Chevrolet was a leftover from 1979 or something, lol. Notice the yellow Camaro's roof at the bottom of the pic, it's a new car with plastic on the seats!
I've still yet to find any other mention of it being the same place as on carsinbarns.com. So maybe someone else who saw that will google it and find this thread!
I tried finding the farm on google maps to no avail, the area is very wide open and expansive. I did find the location of the dealership though, on Google Street View you can see the white Impala in the window. The damned Google car didn't go down the street it's on though, so it's from a few buildings away.

You know, I was thinking. My wife's entire family (minus sisters and mom and dad) live in Nebraska where this is.
They all live in Lincoln tho. I think this is a bit far.
Her uncles all drive chevelle a and impalas and what not from the 60's and 70's. one of them owns a rod shop of sorts I guess.
I wonder if they'd be interested in this auction.
As sad as it may be, when her grandfather died, his funeral was literally a friggin car show. They had a 50's truck with a tree growing out of it from when they recovered it. Rodded it out and left it original looking.

I can't tell if this was new or used. Probably low mileage trade-in...the paint on the wheels looks worn a bit compared to those others, but those tires are probably original...
This has 74 Impala taillights on it, but it's a Caprice. Probably was a used cah. It has 70s era tires also, with snow tires on the back.
Vinyl top, ooooooh yea.

Seems most of these cars are pretty worthless. Why would you let a 3 and 4 mile caprice just sit outside.

Doubt it'd run right away. 30 years of sitting outside? Every hose and belt is probably dry rotted.

That's what happens when you have lots of $ and refuse to sell a left over new model. Pisses me off. If I had the $ I'd fly out there for the auction just to see all that stuff.

Me too Glen.
I personally think that those no-mileage cars would be worth cleaning up as good as you can, tinkering with to get running, and driving them around after documenting the fact of where the came from and what they started out with. At least the electronics are kinda simple and they have carbs. Just depends on what they go for. That orange (?) Impala can't be worth much no matter the mileage, the characters on the speedo even started to rust a little. But the bodies are mostly solid overall.
I'd like to see pics of how they were found, all those cars have been dragged to those spots to be auctioned. There's a row of 60s Chevy C10s with no miles on them, some have dents from where large trees fell across the beds. There was also a 73+ Chevy K20, no miles, in ok shape, that had a wooden bed floor, with the wood missing by now of course. Never knew they had that setup early on with that body style.

I saw the prior pictures, looks like them moved them and just mowed the field. For the auction. That's where most of them were just near the tree line.
It was said thieves would enter the rear of the property and steal the stuff on weekends

You know, I'd like to say how cool I thought those pics were... But I don't. They just made me so friggin ANGRY! ARGH! Seeing all those cars, with NO MILES on em, just left to sit and rot in a field because some asshole has a chip on his shoulder. Fuck him. I hope they lose money on that damn auction.

Yeah man, I mean part of me thinks they're just eccentric older people who wanted to keep them, but you're right, the guy was probably being a stubborn OCD dick and thought if I don't get what I want, no one can have them. Like the pics of that SS rotting under the trees somwhere on the S. Shore that Mike/SlowSS posted that time, the kid's parents bought the damned thing for him or something, kid blew engine, parked it under tree on lawn and said he wouldn't sell it for under 10 grand or whatever? 10 years later it's rotting away...lol.
That green Caprice makes me sick. That's such a rare color and although I'm sure some people here hate it and mistake it for an avocado green, it's a nice clean looking paint shade when it's all buffed out and waxed because of the metallic. It's more like a green apple candy color like a Jolly Rancher, it's close to that Pepper Green 1981(?) Cadillac I posted here a few months ago that was perfect.
That car never got the chance to be enjoyed.
Look at the cars we have and the miles that are on them, the condition they're in compared to those? WTF?

So that auction is over with, don't know if anyone checked but some things sold for exorbitant amounts, while others sold cheap, or what they're basically worth. It's too bad that some of the low/no mileage B's will be wrecked by idiots in demo derbies or something I'm sure, in spite of their current condition, but what can ya do. I sure could use a mint back bumper for the Impala...lol.

I'm surprised; not many went for under $1k. The cheapest car was a 1970 Fairlane, sold for $425.
A lot of the lots were won by "o****e," including the $140k Cameo.
