PostSubject: Anyone recognize this B?   Wed Jun 12, 2013 9:46 pm

Getting back into the whole B body thing... I stumbled across this first pic and later found the rest VIA the photographer. It caught my eye, of course, because someone went the hurst/olds appearance route with it. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about it.

Assuming its the same car. Different tags to follow. I cannot tell what region the plates are from, but I believe I read that the autox events were in Canada. A couple people have alluded to me, the license plate below reads "LE STIG" like the stunt driver for Top Gear "The Stig". Idk, could be a clue.

It was built in the mid to late 90s. Other than cosmetic changes, it is just an SS as far as I can remember. It made it into a couple magazines.

What is that track in your photobucket? Is that Seekonk? My uncles used to race there when I was a kid.

Yep. Good ole seekonk speedway. I keep telling myself I'll enter the soectator drags, but a lot of body damage tends to come out of them :/ plus my car is probably too slow.

I think I remember that car, or one set up like it. About 10 years ago,  maybe longer, there was a website (kinda primitive HTML style like the old links you sometimes find for B-bodies, lol) for it.  The guy was trying to make what GM would have done for a "Delta 88" sort of, but with a sport package of sorts?  This looks a little more modded up though...however the site I saw was a long time ago.

Bill is a freind of mine,. and we help each other with projects,.he lives an hour from my place .
The car now has a golen 383, full cage,. lots of chassis, and brake mods,.
Mostly just a track car,. but is still licensed and insured for the street,.

He had friends in GM years back,. and actually filled in paperwork and got the car registered as an oldsmobile,. even tho it has the chevy vin 

It,s interesting how many people have commented on the car, and have seen one before,. far away ,. usually in california,..Laughing

Good info Nick! I was waiting for you to chime in. I figured, for one reason or another, you'd know the guy.

He did a great job investing in the "what if" idea of the car. 

It'd be cool to have a detailed rundown on its mod list to date.
