I just figured I'd post this, since it's so rare...

http://www.classic-carauction.com/auction_results_details.cfm?auctionid=5269

I've never even seen a 77-79 Cadillac with those colors. That's what my other '74 Impala was, pretty much, but no white seats. I think this was a 1981-only special order color.

I can't believe this only sold for 4,500 bucks either, looked clean and was pre-HT4100 cars as well. Some may hate the color, but I think it's awesome, refreshingly different somewhat...

Found out about it in this thread:
http://www.curbsideclassic.com/curbside-classics-american/curbside-classic-1984-cadillac-coupe-de-ville-nice-car-shame-about-the-engine/

I wonder if any coupes were done in that color that year, that would be epic.

I dunno, I agree it's different, but don't like it.......... pale

Close to the color of my second car, 1978 Nova I bought back in '86.

(I started paint and bodywork within the first week I had it Laughing )

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one then, lol. The color itself is truly a sight to behold in person, it's not that poo-green or avacado green, or that shade of green GM painted a lot of Regals and Centurys with in the 80s, in the sunlight it looks awesome and changes hue a little due to the metallic, it's literally like a "pure actual green" for the lack of a better description.

Makes me miss the Impala I used to have. People were all over that thing even though it was starting to get rot... Laughing

That car had the V-8-6-4 cylinder deactivation system in it that gets a bad rap (probably because of the bad 4.1 liter engines that came out the year after), but all it took was unplugging a connector to disable it if you didn't like how it worked. Then you got a reliable 368ci Cadillac big-block engine derived from the 472/500/425 series, topped with what I believe was a typical GM 220 TBI, and an overdrive transmission (I forget which one, but probably a 700r4?). Just a nice car all around.

Al, a dude I know has been building this one into a drag car, it was his grandfathers and had a straight six, lol.

He just found a prize under the vinyl top:
