My prayers go out to anyone victimized by this terrible act of cowardice in Boston today. I hope no one we know was affected. I'm beside myself right now, I don't know what to think or who to call in case they were there. I just heard it on the radio coming home from Wilmington and had no idea.
There are pictures of the scene online from Twitter, I don't feel like posting them though because they are sort of graphic. Blood has been shed on the streets of my hometown and it shows the absolutely fucked up world we live in. I hope someone pays the price if and when they're found guilty of even the slightest involvement.

Pretty fucked up. Never would have thought the Boston Marathon.
There's no reason not to post pictures, they NEED to be seen. But, this isn't the place for it. Google it. Turn on the news.
2 more devices have been found since.
2 dead, 23 injured, multiple amputations. Early numbers always climb.

All I'm going to say, is check USA Today. All you need to see. And Facebook. It's terrible. I agree Brian, people need to know what is going on.

I have the scanner on. It's a mess down there. They're currently searching for Ryder/Penske type rental trucks.
Also, reports of a suspect in custody with shrapnel wounds and a 3rd explosion was confirmed at the JFK library.

Today's events in Boston are truly horrifying. I really still can't believe it's happened here. On our soil. So close to home. It makes no sense whatsoever to go after innocents like that. It's infuriating and extremely saddening.
My thoughts and prayers to all affected.
And these motherfuckers need to get what's coming to them. And fast. No more sitting idle and hoping it goes away. How much more innocent blood needs to be shed?

This honestly seems like something out of a movie. Today was nice I was working outside and heading into my other job is when I first heard about it. I still didn't really realize how bad it was until I got home and have been seeing the pictures. Completely ridiculous. This is a sad sad day and my thoughts are with all of those effected by these explosions.

This is what I've gathered do far this AM
Boston bomb suspects are 19 and 20 year old brothers. MIT officer killed responding to disturbance, his cruiser stolen and then ditched for a Mercedes involved in HUGE shoot out with explosions and car chase this morning involving 1 MBTA police officer shot, robbery, and car jacking. Suspects tossed bombes out car windows. Bomb squads detonating devices all over the boston area at this time(undefined) SWAT searching buildings. Police moving block to block searching for one suspect as on has been shot dead. Undetermined what group they are from but media and authorities pointing fingers at Chechnya. 6 towns are being told to stay home, businesses closed, public transit shut down to include Amtrak. Any of this info is subject to change of course. If you haven't seen the various shoot out videos, check them out. Pretty unreal for most people.

This whole turn of events is unreal. I've been up since last night watching it unfold and it's been crazy. RIP to the slain officer, and I hope everyone else pulls through.

The older brother probably blew himself up; the trauma surgeon who saw him in the ER said his trunk was wrapped in explosives. Multiple gunshot wounds, too, of course.
I do a lot of work in Watertown and know the neighborhood well; I was even in the Deluxe Town Diner on Marathon Monday a couple of years ago. It's unreal to think that it's basically a war zone at the moment.
Best piece of info all day was the boys' uncle describing them as losers.

Nope; the CR-V was recovered in Cambridge. I don't understand how they haven't found the stolen Benz yet, though.
The MIT officer was only 26. Sean Collier:

Thats awful. Unfortunately we all get in the mind set that we're safe. You get lazy. Human nature. Probably not alot of down & dirty scumbags over at MIT. I feel so sorry for that poor officer & his family.

Apparently the 2nd guy got away and now they can link the car jacking, MIT cop that was killed, and the 2 suspects even being together at this point. Niiiice....
But font worry, there's thousands of law enforcement personnel on the ground...

Looking at that pic the news channels keep running it makes me wonder HOW anyone that young could act as he did.

This is deeper than they are telling us...... Some one was funding these brothers, their russian dad said " Hell will break loose if his younger son dies"............
Also, does anybody remember back in 2010 when they picked up a group of russian spy's in cambridge..... I find it funny the media hasn't touched on this once.

No, he's not a US citizen. His brother was a permanent resident and I think this guy probably still came under the original VISA that brought them over here.

He was granted asylum. He became a permanent resident in 2007 and became a US citizen in September 2012. The older brother, the dead one, was not a citizen. He was denied due to domestic violence. Can they revoke his citizenship based on these crimes alone? No. Can they revoke his citizenship based on the fact that upon being naturalized he took an oath for this country and acted in such a way against it? Maybe.

Deploy to Iraq and your statement will change, Steve.
This is tremendously uplifting that this dumbass was found, and found ALIVE.
Justin, I see your point. That could be VERY true given some circumstances.
I'm tired of already hearing tgecretarded conspiracy bullshit. Really people???
One that sticks in my head is how the guy with the cowboy hat on Monday, shown helping with the guy with no legs, was almost immediately demonized as "involved" because he was somewhat out of place I guess.
The real story was he's at every marathon handing out American flags. It's how he supports his sons passing as a US Marine. Fuckin IDIOTS!

That guy in the cowboy hat lost 2 sons One to war, one to suicide over the loss of his brother. He was handing out flags while working with BOTH groups (veterans & suicide) By holding the artery of that boys leg he saved his life That boy while in a hospital bed, with a tube down his throat, worked with FBI sketch artists to give them a lead on the case. All this was discussed on 93.7 sports as the boy was one of the hosts best friends sons Interviewed the cowboy hat guy (wish I could remember his name...I'll be looking it up & editing this) One of the nicest...most selfless humans I've heard recount thier part in this event todate.

I read about Carlos Arredondo (sp?) the day that all happened and could not believe it. A great guy, and the country needs more people like him here. Not selfish useless idiots exploiting the place and then inflicting harm upon innocent people.
I am still affected by just PHOTOS that were posted everywhere of the scene, not the aftermath but the incident itself, the horror, seeing the pictures of what Krystle Campbell went through before she passed away, just thinking about it is awful for me. And I wasn't even there. I would have been in utter shock if I was. A friend of mine was there and she suffered some hearing issues but wasn't really hurt. It could have been much worse if you think about it, and really makes you reevaluate your life.
I think it's nuts considering how many people were at the marathon, that these two idiots were able to be identified. Jeff Bauman played a huge part in that, but apart from that, it's really amazing how these two were singled out. Then, right as they're identified, they go and shoot an innocent person, and a law enforcement officer to boot, therefore bringing attention to themselves. Stupid, but shows that stupid people cannot be underestimated, they're dangerous too.
This was such a harrowing week, my life was disrupted yesterday (work on a movie got cancelled) because of it and I'm sure a lot of others here had the same thing happen. I didn't care about that though given the context! I slept for 11 hours last night because I pretty much didn't sleep at all the night before, watching all that stuff go down on the news and the live scanner feed.
I think Big Papi summed it up well today, however.

I stand corrected, Tim is right. I found this: Last September — September 11th, in fact — Dzhokhar Tsarnaev took the oath, during a large ceremony held at TD Bank Garden.
His brother, according to The Times, wasn't so lucky; his "moral character" didn't make the grade.

You said it, Matt. The "cowboy hat guy" is a true inspiration and a real representation of a selfless human being, unlike the two scumbags who brought on to themselves, what they brought to the city of Boston and surrounding suburbs.
The POTUS wasn't kidding when he said that they will feel the full weight, huh?
The guy who found the moron hiding in his boat should get the fuckin key to the city or season passes or something.
Tom, that is what I heard last night as well. They took our citizenship for granted and I'm sure this is going to increase opposition to all this "sanctioning immigration" garbage in Washington.
