| Look what fired right up after sitting in the storage lot, outside, all fall and winter with the battery still hooked up! I cleared the snow and opened the door and the interior light came on. I was like "no shit" so I hit the key and she fired right up! Sweet! So I slapped some dirty plates on her butt and drove her home. Heater core and hoses replacement this weekend and I'll be rockin her next week! Woot! | |

Funny thing... I forgot about it too! Lol I've spent the last month or so searching CL for a caprice or fleetwood or wagon to rock for the rest of the winter and enjoy a little better gas mileage than I've been getting in the slut. So I was about to go check on a car yesterday that was an hour away and probably needed a tranny when it hit me... Hey SHITHEAD, YOU ALREADY HAVE A CAPRICE!!!!!! Yeah, just like that. I'd TOTALLY forgotten that I had this car over at the storage lot with the rest of my stuff. What. An. IDIOT! So today I went and checked it out. Not too buried. And it fired right up. Sweet! It needs a little work to be drivable, but it's close. The previous owner cut the heater hoses at the overflow tank and looped them when the heater core let go. So I need to replace the heater core and run new hoses. The CEL is on and the fans are both running, so I think it needs a coolant temp sensor or a MAF possibly. Gotta pull the codes tomorrow. I plan to thrash on it on Saturday and get it cleaned up (it's GROSS inside) and rock it for a while. It needs tires, but I think I can get away with the ones on it now til spring. We'll see. Anyways, I'm psyched to be in a MEDIUM ADRIATIC BLUE caprice!!!! It's kind of a shame to subject this west coast car to the salt, but it's only for a few more weeks, hopefully!

Make sure you let joe, I mean them, know. I still should have bought this one, I got a perfect frame. Ugh. http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/cto/3666506014.html | |

| Replaced the heater core today. Took 6 hours and 3 trips to the parts store and hardware store to make it happen. I just love that all my tools and parts for this job are packed away in storage!!!! So... Do you think it was leaking? lol New vs old: Cleaned up the old rust stains and slapped it back together. Doing the hoses was a PITA though. You know how many sets of heater core hoses I THREW AWAY when I moved? ARGH! GM used two different sizes and I had to come up with a way to make it work. As I said before, wouldn't have been a big deal if I had my stuff. But I didn't. So it was. And it took all day because of it. Boo! Also replaced the coolant temp sensor. Now all the lights are out on the dash! Woo! And it passes the brakestand/burnout test with flying colors! Now... To do something about the STINK inside! PEE YEW! | |
