But if I find out, I'm going to hurt you. You just cost me a couple 100 bucks. Asshole. Friends don't do that.

Yeah someone from the club today called and said that he knew who was coming for it and if they wouldn't sell it to me, he'd come down and pay full price for it. We had already agreed to a lower price and I had already rented the trailer and was an hour and a half into my jourrney when she called me and told me. Who does that???
But it don't matter.
Cuz I got it anyway, MoFo!

That's exactly why when I'm about to pull the trigger on something, I keep it quiet until it's done.
It's always good to secure the deal with a deposit and a receipt. If you don't, there is no deal.
Don't forget, you don't have to be a member to view the site. I would be real reluctant to blame someone. Quite honestly, I don't know anyone who would do that.

I def. know nothing about it, but that is pretty messed up, I'd be pissed if I'd already spent all that gas and time getting at least part of the way out there. The forum is public, it could've been anyone...
Be sure to take some pics of the undercarriage on that thing to make everyone jealous, unless it was sitting in mud I'm sure it's super nice considering it's from the PNW...

He said he was from the same. Club as me and knew it was me going to get it... Either way, it was a total doosh move.
And yeah, it IS as clean as a PNW car should be!
I'll take more pics when I get home.
Gonna be an autox slut and summer daily. I just can't submit it to the winters here.

^LOL.
And not only is the forum viewable to non-members, it could have been someone who lurks and IS a member! Definitely brings up the whole "dibs" debate...I don't think the seller was really a doosh for whatever happened (unless they made it up), but either way, who cares, you still got a good deal on that thing, even if it needs tailpipes. Holy perfect tank straps Batman!

I can't take the guilt any longer! I'm Joe. I made a mental dibs, sold the vw and called the seller.

All you have to do is go to members list and look down the list to see who's been on since you posted u bought it on the phone. Yes I realize someone can view without signing in. BUT they wouldn't have known they were going to read that you bought a car, so they would have signed on. Members list is in chronological order top to bottom. Soooooo..... Through process of elimination boil it down to the few who have been on with only a couple posts. It'll be someone your not familiar with.

Yeah true unless some one on that list is really named Joe. Coincidence? Maybe but not likely. Especially if a person has only a post or two and it's taking interest in 9c1 items........
Idk I dont know alot of the original members names so I can only speculate on members who are new/few posts, Maybe they didn't think the seller was gonna call them out to Bill?
AGAIN, why me and other "massholes" are pissed that the introduction threads are not followed. S'all good till someone starts being a tool.

OK, I know who it is. He contacted me and apologized.
I guess I won't hurt him.
Anyways, I have been DYING for a B-body this color! I LOVE Medium Adriatic Blue! Just ask Doug! Ha, he'll never bring that WB4 to my house again, I bet!
And the car is super clean, rust wise. It's in rough shape with dents and a destroyed interior and the CEL is on, but it'll be great for what I'm going to use it for. I may or may not fix the body. The cones won't care.
And yes, it was the one in Ware, Ma. I gotta say, I LOVE my truck, too! Did the 250 mile round trip without a complaint. That thing tows awesome! And I got 11MPG through the mini mountains on the pike @ 70, too! Only about 1.5MPG worse than I get usually.
What are the plans? Suspension work, 17" Soft 8's, Vette brakes, T56, 4.10's, some engine work... Unless I find a deal on a wrecked LS1 F-body. Gonna try to build a bullitproof autoX beater on a budget.
Here's a couple more pics:
I'm pretty happy with it.
So glad I tossed all that Caprice specific stuff during the move, too!

Yup! But those springs went up. I tried to order the last set using my phone the other day and it wouldn't work and my the time I got home, they were 69 bucks. Boo.
I'm going to have to do some research on the big board, I think, to see what the autocrossers are using for setups in these cars.

Buuuuuuut.... If you had access to a dirt cheap LT1 T56, and a good running LT1, wouldn't you just swap the tranny for now, for cheap, without having to do any electrical work, until something failed?
I would like to do an LSx/T56 with it eventually... But rocking it with the LT1 to shake it down and sort it out seems to make more sense til the LT1 expires, right?
