So, the Volvo fell through Empty
PostSubject: So, the Volvo fell through   So, the Volvo fell through EmptyTue Oct 30, 2012 11:39 am

Somehow, my friend decided to just sell the Volvo he was going to lend me... so that sucked.
Another friend offered to lend me his Mercedes (all rusted, but mechanically sound) but his truck ended up being in the shop indefinitely.
I started getting to the point where I needed a car. I reached out to my dad. He said I could borrow his Jeep and the next day his brake lines failed...

So, I figured this was a sign and I started looking to buy a car and hope that the stars will align and I'll be able to afford repairs to the house later in the year next year

$3200. I stole this thing. It was cheaper than some beat up E30s I was looking at!

Lol @ the plate nonetheless.

I can only assume those are road course/drifting cones in the back from the looks of the inventory there lol.

Too bad you didn't pick up Crovo's E30. Instead of the Volvo falling through, you could have fallen through the BMW.

What are parts/maintenance costs like on those cars? My folks used to have a 735i. Expensive!

they're pretty DIY. not a lot of systems to fail engine wise. The biggest issue is suspension and subframe bushings. There's a lot of them and the car gets a bit sloppy when they fail. a few are easy to replace. a bunch aren't (namely the rear subframe and rear trailing arm bushings)

transmissions are stout

some early ones suffer from rust/rot

Cooling systems can be problematic if still maintaining the plastic water pump.

E36'er FTW!

Nice pickup as that is a great car to beat around in and if you feel like it, they can be stepped on pretty hard. They can withstand horrifying levels of abuse, too. Smile
