I predict that Tim Allen will put his in an Impala before you can buy one in a crate.

Engine guru's correct me if I'm wrong but will this be Chevy's first rotary style oil pump? I love that they kept cam in block! I can't wait to hear one rip past me. I already know I'll never be the one taking the rip!

This just means that LS vettes will be cheap now...right?? Twisted Evil

All the the LS family engines 4.8 5.3 5.7 6.0 6.2 run the rotor type oil pump, starting in '99, exept for the 7.0 which is a dry-sump system.

They make it sound like a lot of the stuff is new, but the the VVT-cam, and displacement on demand (DOD) is already in the trucks and SUV's. Direct injection is already used in a few other engines like the Ecotec and 3.6 V6.

I hope the fix the bugs with the DOD, because we've seen a lot of them burning oil because the the center four cylinders, when shut down id "Eco-mode" are cooled down, and carbon builds up in the ring lans, causing the rings to get stuck Rolling Eyes

The 06 Monte SS I had burned oil like crazy with its DOD LS4. It sounded pretty beast in 4cyl mode though.

Learn something new everyday, I had no idea. I thought they were too stubborn for new stuff like that lol!
