| Haha, thanks! I would have held out longer but I was afraid Glen would have to be committed from so many people asking if he bought it. I'll have to post a "build thread" of sorts when I get things squared away! It's kind of hilarious how different the driving experience is with this compared to the '93. | |

PS: Matt says the LT1 on the back is... (just thought you should know... ) Thanks Steve! I will say that you were instrumental in me making the decision to go look at this after seeing your car at the roundup and how you said you have it set up to have fun with and drive instead of worrying about it. That's what I want to do with this car. I think this will be a fun daily driver to say the least, with the old Impala, it's more of a cruiser, and I can't really just leave it parked in different places or drive it in the rain (even though I did during the hurricane). This one will give me a lot more freedom. At some point I may take you up on your offer just to break up the sea of black cars you have there...haha. And I like that emblem! I do believe it's "Corvette-derived!" - Cadet57 wrote:

Does the '93 need a home? Thanks yah ass...lol. As a matter of fact the Caprice will need to leave my ownership one way or another because of the SS, not only because of room but to re-appropriate certain monies that recently departed my bank account. I think I'm going to sell my Tahoe's Z71 wheels/tires and unload some random parts I have laying around too, I just have too much stuff everywhere. I will likely be removing the chrome wheels from the Caprice and might be putting them on the SS for a bit, but I haven't decided for sure. Will also probably take my SS grille and tails off there, and my brother's '94 Roadmaster's Delco CD player is in it so that will have to come out. My dad is interested in the car and if that doesn't pan out, it will probably wind up on here. Just don't know what's going on yet... - IMPALADAKID wrote:

You could'nt help yourself, you were blinded by.........how cool it is? He must be blinded by DGGM! Basically, I've wanted an Impala SS since before I had a learner's permit. I figured it was time and this would be a decent way to get into one even if it needs a couple of things.

| Congrats on the Impala purchase Matt.
Got to say going with driving this car as a daily driver once you get some of the issues sorted out, is so so so so much fun.
I drive 50 miles a day in my SS. People see the car and think it's an old beater, but those who KNOW what it is, absolutley do double takes and see this 16 year old car cruise by them just humming along its daily grind.
I have not had so much enjoyment driving a car again, as I have with the SS since college when I commuted with my Olds. Everyday, I get in and look forward to pilotiing this car to work and back each day, through rain, blazing heat, freezing cold, snow, and perfect sunny days...
People laugh that I drive such an old car, but I dont care, driving one every single day has made life so much more enjoying for each of my 45 minutes to and from work.
I hope you get to enjoy it as a daily driver...

| Thank you! I am still excited. I can't wait to get the few things it needs sorted out. It will be somewhat of a daily driver for me, I have the Tahoe for when it snows and this car will stay parked when that happens, as well as when the roads aren't dry/loaded with wet brine and salt...I could already tell driving it home that it was going to be a night and day difference compared to what I am used to, and should be a fun time had by all sitting inside, haha.

I hope you get to enjoy it as a daily driver... People seriously laugh at you? Next time it happens point to their econobox POS and shake your head in disapproval! You're the smart one driving the fun and exciting car and using it for its intended purpose. Plus, these cars really don't look that old! They can blend in very well with others on the road today. - Matt Trakker wrote:
