Electrical question about turn signals Empty
PostSubject: Electrical question about turn signals   Electrical question about turn signals EmptySun Oct 28, 2012 8:56 pm

I've given it a month and still cant seem to find the answer on my own. Normally Im the "wire guy" but I'm scratchin my head on this one.

On the RMW when I swapped the lights over I cut out the "extra" turn/tail/stop light on each side where the yellow/dk green wires came out of the first sockets. I also removed the marker 194 bulbs and sockets. Got everything taped up and they all work and function, HOWEVER ………

When applying with turn signal they flash delayed and VERY slowly.

I changed the front clip to Rms and added some bulbs up there for turn/running lights and one side has bulbs that are out (BUT the turns were flashing fine even with the bulbs out and the clip added)

I'm assuming this is a load issue, now that I removed an entire 1157 bulb, my question is what and where do I have to add something to bring the blink back to a normal pace.

Put in an electronic flasher. Should be able to deal with the additional load.

So your saying I have more load the less bulbs I have?
Electronic flasher can be found at parts stores? or online aftermarket?

Load other than what it was designed for. You can get them at any parts store for like 10 or 15 bucks. Right beside the regular old flashers. Smile

I had to use them on a few cars when I changed the bulbs and such, like you have.

I even had to wire in some resistors when I removed a couple bulbs in the Fleetwood.

I'll give it a shot.
I was assuming the same thing you had done to the FW. I was prepared to have to solder in resistors like when you go to LED tails. (load equalizers and the like)
