BADASS of New England
An automobile club for the enthusiast who enjoys the last of the big GM cars. The rear wheel drive B and D bodys. Chevrolet Impala SS, Caprice, 9C1, Buick Roadmaster, Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser, Cadillac Fleetwood
Subject: Well. It has been a fun, miserable, bumpy, smooth ride. Sat Sep 29, 2012 9:40 pm
I have had ups and downs with the 91-95 b-body and d-body, but the ride has finally reached the end. Starting Monday, I will no longer be driving a b-body. No regrets, just moving on after 18 years with them.
I have made a lot of great friends, and it is always an honor to know so many of you, so I am not leaving the club, or the forum.
I am moving into another cool car not made by GM anymore after the 2011 model year. Time will tell if it will last as long.
So come Monday afternoon, I will be rolling in a fully loaded 2007 HHR 2LT

Congrats man....my grandfather has quite a few HHRs in his rental fleet and they have all proven to be dependable smooth cars. I actually enjoy them quite a bit and gas mileage is AWESOME.
I doubt you will be disappointed.

I had one as a rental once and was impressed. Orders of magnitude better than the POS Cruiser it was trying to imitate.
Glad you're sticking around. What of the Biscayne?

Trading it in. Getting more as a trade in than I could ever get selling outright. Kinda hate doing it, but it is what it is.

Decent ride as a passenger in the front or back, never drove one though. I will say this, they are tough in an accident. I was in a week and a half old one that was totaled and I crawled through the side curtain air bags without a bruise or a scratch.
Edit: Oh and I give it a year, tops.

They are super safe and very reliable. And the 2.4 is a great engine.

My parents had one for about 7 months. Couldn't stand it any longer, the ride was terrible. That was the first year they were out, might be better now. Sharp car Billy good luck with it

Cant remember the show, want to say it was on the speed channel..... but the had a competition on re- designing the Happy Homo Racer.
There was a group that converted the HHR to RWD with a small block. it also may have had turbo mounted on the exhaust.
Not many people know that you can bolt a lot of the stage 2 Cobalt SS aftermarket GM parts right to it and go

That's a nice clean looking black vehicle there Billy, I dig it!
Get some sort of wax or paint sealant of some sort on there before the snow flies, so it'll look that way next year too!
In addition to being "a mean wine", in Boston, mentioning "Night Train" will bring up anecdotes of this guy:
