Spindle needed Empty
PostSubject: Spindle needed   Spindle needed EmptySat Oct 06, 2012 1:59 am

My brother (the one that never comes on the forum) had some issue on his 1994 Roadmaster with a ball joint that came loose and enlarge the hole it fits into or something along those lines, I'm not sure, he was bothering me about it earlier after having his mechanic look at the car. I guess he needs a spindle, and I think it's the driver's side.

If anyone has a good one already hanging out removed feel free to let me know and I'll put you in touch with him, I think he's going to look for one at a junkyard but figured I'd pass the word along. Smile

Don't forget that the late 5/8" HD spindles require the big ball-joints AND the bigger holed 5/8" B/J specific lower control arm!

Yes, it IS different, & many people have successfully modified the Front LCA to accept the bigger diameter larger B/J, but obviously you must bring the appropriate skills to that mod.

9/16" lower B/Js require the normal spindle and LCA.

Also remember that the cast in spindle "ears" that abut the caliper came in two versions, 11" rotors & nominal 12" rotors.

My brother wound up getting a spindle from Hollands. It came out of the same Roadmaster sedan that Brian got his seat out of!
