It's funny you posted this. I did a great deal of research on the callaway impalas last. Night.
It's seems that 18 were made.
The 383 with 400+ hp and 400+ tq was something of a marvel back then, but today not so much.
I do like the boxed arms and brake upgrade that came with the setup tho.
I read that you could bring your car in and buy certain upgrades sans whole package.
Almost $50k invested after you buy the car and give it to callaway. Their vettes remain a class of their own.

We had a Callaway owner at NED one year. Cant for the life of me remember his name but he had sent it out. He didnt run it but had the hood open for inquiring minds. DID cost a ton of dough....I thought it was $20K....could be wrong.

It was roughly $24,000 for the package.

I think that guy was a friend of my father's from his vette club and he brought him to the event. Wish my memory wasn't so bad.

I remember them when they started offering the package. There was one on the cover of a magazine with a full article inside describing the car, and the package you could buy for your car. The early package and car number 1 has a special aluminum Super natural plug for the home plate delete. I was sticker shocked by the cost of a Borla exhaust, so 20k+ was out of the question for me back then, but knowing what they had done with the vette, I knew this was the shit. By todays standards, I think, Bill's marshmallow would eat a Callaway the way it sits now.

^LOL
The thing is you're probably right! But it's the allure of the supernatural versus a RMW to the fanboys that'll make the wallets open up wide at auction in 20 years.
