PostSubject: Heated seats   Fri Aug 31, 2012 7:17 pm

Anyone ever pull a RMW heated seat apart to see if you can put it in another seat?

I guess they would be the limited? idk?

I just thought of this after seeing Brians project endless seats
(& didnt want to de-rail his thread)

I havent searched for aftermarket heaters but free would be good.

Well, Impala seats are just roadmaster seats with different covers, so I don't see why they wouldn't. Wink

I don't see why they wouldn't work in other seats.
Just make sure they're wired correctly and there shouldn't be a problem.

Here's a link to a popular aftermarket co. to see what they look like.

edit:
Lol, Walmart has 'em too. $50

Weren't the heated Roadmaster seats the "Limited" style and not the tuck and roll looking ones?

On my Tahoe, the heated seat is just a pad in the seat held in with Velcro, I believe...under the leather cover and above the foam cushion.

On our RMS the heater was glued to the foam very well. I couldn't see how to get them out without destroying the foam.

OK Thanks guys.
Looks like it MAY be ok
They're basically trash after I'm done anyway, ESPECIALLY if I go after the heat.
They had their issues before hand anyway...foam was shot.
Just wondering if anyone knew for sure.
These were leather with heat (I never know the real options)
I'll give it a try
