Braking DISASTER! Empty
PostSubject: Braking DISASTER!   Braking DISASTER! EmptyMon May 18, 2009 7:45 am

So I got all excited when I read Billy Mac's write up of the "stealth bolt mod" and said , hell, I've got an hour or so to kill before I go to see the new Star Trek movie! I install the bolts, check the fluid and then start the bleeding process. As always, being from Maine, I soak the bleeder valves with PB Blaster. I give it about 20 min and the Wife starts pumping the brakes. I cracked the valve loose just before she started applying pressure then tightened in back in place.
So you guys know the drill. I always bleed it a second time for good measure, but something goes wrong! I tell her to pump it again and as she does it bleeds out before I even crack the valve! So I figure it wasn't tight enough so I repeat and again it's still bleeding out, without her pumping, SHYT! I'm tearing it apart today and now has turned into Toms9C1 Mini Mod day! Oh well, I've got to maintain the rears anyway. I'll take pics. Have a great day guys, Tom out.

I purchased two powder coated rear calipers from another forum for my son's car and the same thing happened on the rear left. Pump the brake out comes the fluid before I even open the bleeder, upset me. Well he as one rear red one anyways! If you were close to Limington I could have fixed you up. How many jobs have we all started saying, "that will be easy"!!!

Oh yea sorry Tom. It appears the rear calipers are more than twice the price of the fronts.

Fronts are 15.99 I guess.

Larry, Do I understand that you have one rear passenger side (right) available? If so what would you want for it? Tom
