So what do you guys think my 1/4 mile times would be? Maybe you know somebody running a similar setup?

95 Caprice wagon
Eaton posi w/373s
air intake
muffs
pcm reprogrammed for firmer shifts, and 93 octane

I'm just curious because my buddy has a late 80s Mazda RX-7 turbo, gutted interior, FMIC, exhaust, and its @13lbs of boost and he currently runs a best of 14.3 Just wondering If i'd be close, or whats my next step to getting quicker? I wish I couldve came up to the dragway yesterday! But i had work.. Maybe I'll go to one of NE Dragways Street Nights which are every wednesday and friday night.. Thanks guys..

I'd guess a 14.7 on street tires.

Low 14's with a converter and sticky tires. Smile

I've been reading about the converters trying to understand how they work and what they do, but Im not sure lol. Ive read about so many different stalls and everything, im just lost. What exactly does the converter do and which one is preferred for a daily driveable car that might hit the track once in a while?

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-parts/towing/towing-capacity/information/torque-converter.htm

It effectively allows the full amount available to "hit" the tires all at once, instead of building slowly. The converter "flashes" at the peak torque of the engine instead of having to wait for it.

I'd think a 2500-2800 stall would still be daily driver friendly.

Some guys get into the 13's with gears, converter, intake, and programming in sedans...

The stockish cars were getting into the 15's consistently saturday. With your bolt'ons and the right tires you're probably going to be in that group. The heavier wagon is going to cost you a little over a sedan, but not enough to prevent you from running it Wink
