| Subject: Gas Tank Question... Tue Aug 07, 2012 9:54 pm | |
| Do the roundy round impala/ caprices have a plastic gas tank? Both these cars fill fuel from behind the license plate like the boxy right?
Last...does anyone know if there is an upgraded sending unit for these tanks?
I am thinking of converting to the 91-96 tank, because from what I have found they appear to be plastic?
Thanks | |

| They are plastic and they do fit In the box chev. You can run the 91-93 sender if you have a 89 or 90 tbi motor car Of you can put a mr gasket fuel regulator in line if you run a carb.
I also have one for sale with sender if interested,

Do you know if the sender in my 81 tank would fit the newer plastic one? I am going carbed, and I modified the pick-up to 1/2" with a -6an fitting for my lines. It would be nice to retain that.

| I do not know, only because I have never seen the box style sender I do know that the lines in the 94-96 are nylon all the way up to the fuel rail And the tbi ones go to metal lines near the engine might be worth it to take the complete lines too, Take is here with filler neck and new sender incase you don't find what you want. | |
