PostSubject: 95 BRM Got the "R" on inspection   Sat Jul 07, 2012 2:57 pm

The exhaust is deemed too loud? I know that it's in need of some attention, but I thought having brakes was a little more important. The guy was giving me an "R" as a favor... I don't think that he's in the wrong. I'm from Wisconsin originally so I have been spoiled by just having to make sure that your car has four wheels with air and you're good to go. The mechanic was also getting me worked up on "rot" the car does have rust on the body at what point should you be concerned? My wife is growing impatient along with the lack of AC in the car which is another issue. Just would like to know what the experts think on these things. I also am trying to weigh out having 3 cars. Convince me the "beast" is the beauty I have came to believe it is. Thanks.

...... come see me and your good..... because you went somewhere else, I do have to re charge $29.

.... The exhaust and rot are all on each person performing the inspection . they don't like it they can fail it, plain n simple.

..... no check engine light, the car stops, nothing hanging off it and lights n wipers work. I will pass you. lol!

What Chris said- it's up to the inspectors discretion, there are places that are a little more lenient, and on the other end of the spectrum, there are shops that try to nickel and dime the hell out of the car, because either they think you will bring it to them to fix it, or they know some body shop that'll cut you a deal on fixing the rust.

Go see Chris Cool

Red "R"- I'll take a ride and come see you in Groton. I'm in Saugus. Ironfist-I appreciate the offer. Maybe I'll make a field trip. BADASS rules.
