| Hi Everyone, My name is Randy, I live in Upstate NY, and I'm a B body addict.
I have been since I was a kid back in the 70's. My very 1st car was a brown 71 Impala 4dr. 350/2bbl with a glide !! It's been pretty much B-bodies ever since. Currently, I've got a white 79 Impala 2 door Sport Coupe. I'm the second owner. She's got a 305/4bbl, turbo 200 (250?? I forget) and one wheeler rear end. P/W, P/L, Air, Cruise, Tilt, Factory Tinted Windows, and some more stuff I can't think of at the moment.
I haven't done a whole lot to her. Just a 4bbl intake and carb, 1.6/1 roller rockers, and a couple suspension mods. The wheels are Corvette Rally wheel replicas from Wheel Vintiques. 15x8's w/235/60-15 in front, and 15x10's w/295/50-15's out back. Other than that, she's pretty much bone stock. Oh, I put a 77 Caprice nose on her too. And a new rear center bumper filler.
If anybody's interested, here's my CarDomain pages: .cardomain.com/ride/1107426
Lotsa good B-body info I've collected over the years there too. Feel free to grab a free copy of my 79 Fisher Body Service Manual and all the P/N diagrams.

| Welcome aboard! Back in 2003/2004 I had a '79 2 door with the cool back window and alot of body damage. It came with a V6. Ended up scrapping it for 250 bucks. (no title, previous owner was uncooperative to say the least) It was free to me tho. Glad to see one more box style owner on here. It would be nice for me to find one, but in great, worth while shape is impossible around here. Unless you like 26" rims | |

No, yours is a donk. Or a bubble. So maybe the original "bubble" then. But not boxy. Moran.

Hmmm, it's definitely not a "donk" for obvious reasons...it's not a bubble since the only non-square areas are the headlamps, tires/wheels, steering wheel, and assorted dials, knobs, switchgear... So wait...is my car a 1987 Volvo then? Matt, you might want to buy a drivable "Chevrolet passenger" car before telling me to get with the program.

Didn't catch that, nice! Had no clue the 71s still offered a p-glide trans. Some came with straight sixes and a manual trans, but they're very, very rare.

Did you know GM used 3 speed manual trans up until at least 78? A buddy of mine had a 78 Malibu Wagon with one, with column shift too. - Matt Trakker wrote:
Matt you need to at least bring a dealer promo or a Hot Wheels or something to the next meet!
LOL Is this a 1:64 scale car? It looks like an Ertl. Would you want to sell it to me? (I do custom 1:64 scale cars.) On a different note, are there any threads on used parts availability and salvage yards? There's a salvage yard about 2 miles from me with with lotsa good 9C1s left. Boxys and Bubbles. As of last summer there was at least 2 sets of the (boxy) in-dash gauges with all the sending units left, a couple 125mph speedos, a drum brake posi rear end with 3.42 gears, and more. For the Bubbles, there's everything but grills etc,as almost all of them are front end crashes. Aw shit, I'm starting to ramble. I can't help it..... B-bodies are a sickness.....

| Yep, threadjacking is part of the Badass tradition I've noticed...LOL
I've seen a 77ish 2 door Impala with a straight six, a lime green 78ish Malibu 4 door with the three speed manual shift on column as well, haha. It had 50K miles on it, but was all dinged up and showed it's age from sitting in the parking lot of an elderly housing complex from new...you can imagine how old the owner was.
That model I posted the picture of is a Corgi (British model cars) in I think something like 1:43 scale, but I could be wrong. You can find them on eBay for 10-40 bucks I guess, the came like that, some in the two tone blue/silver, police, taxi, etc. They were made in the 70s and 80s I think? I know Majorette sold a 1:64, there was the Ertl one, and a few others.
Nice wheel choice, I have them on my '74 and now a set for my '93 as well, I love them!

You should be closer! That rear end sounds good to me! Even if I still need to get new wheels to use it! If the sending units are cheap I'd want those, I already have the gauges themselves. Though if there is a boxy 9C1 with the later style wood grain on the dash where the gauges mount I would be VERY interested in it so I have no need to cut mine up!
