For the wagon herd

Its a Caprice wagon done up in tribute to fire fighting. Its got hoses in the storage compartments, diamond plate everywhere, and and an axe inside the tailgate!

This car was for sale on eBay like last year. Lots of hard work put into that!!!

If they re-thought the dash & shifter I'd be 100% in.
Not to down play the workmanship or thought behind it in any way.

Very cool car and Very worthy reason to build it for. I like it, but wouldn't drive it on a hot day with all the DP steel! I like the rolled up hose as stands!

I really like the relocated dash, although I would've went with round gauges.
The wood floors are really sexy, and I also like the badges for door handles.
The diamond plate in the cargo is too much. On the door panels is just enough.

I think it is. It does have the 9c1 cluster, so if they were just going to use the cluster that came with the car, that is probably it.

Uh, that's what I meant, as in "I liked it better when it still was just a regular 1A2". I can see why you'd choose a genuine Fire Chief's car for this project, and I'm amazed by the amount of work these guys put into the car, but still... There's not exactly many 1A2s left out there, so for the bone-stock type people like me, this feels a bit like another one lost.

I also like to keep things stock but there are some things, sort of like this tribute, that are perfectly ok in my book.


That being said don't expect the two door to get a hardwood floor and diamond plate doors.....maybe an AX though

I have to agree to what ya' said about this cool wagon. That dash is not right, sorry.. just isnt . Reminds me of the Saturn ION and '07 Prius center dash reads, just odd. I get the idea behind it being a little old school, but the thing aint a 1920's era fire vehicle with guages mounted in the middle of the dash.
If the builder had changed the layout of the dash to old Stuart Warner round guages, maybe it would flow better, but I would have had the whole dash done over including the heating controls into something else all together.

The shifter was cool, but the shifter boot???? ehhhh.... the console layout could have incorporated it better. But one has to remember that the vision of the builder is his and only his, so props for building it and.....

It's a down right cool tribute wagon to the Firemen and women who lost their lives in 9/11.

I was gonna do it in my old GTI... after seeing that, I'm DEFINITELY doing it in the wagon.

I still need to fix the latch so it lays flat though...
