| I just got my ss on the road today after a little ride I notice the steering is a little "floaty". Has anyone done the jeep steering shaft mod? Did it tighten up your steering? Would you recommend it? | |

| I did it on my 9C1 last year sometime. In my case it didn't do much to help my overall poor steering on the car. I think I have a ton of play in my gear box as its probably original with around 150k on it. It was a cheap mod though at $20 from the yard for a nice clean rust free one. I could not for the life of me get the old shaft out of the car due to all the rust on it, so I had to sawzall it in half . | |

| Ya my cars front suspension and steering is tight,so I think it's the rag-joint causing the "floaty" feeling. I suspect I'll have some trouble removing the old shaft also. I'll probably give the jeep shaft a try. I'll post back later after it's done and let people know if I think it's a good mod. | |

| My '93 is a little like that, it's minor but bothers me since everything else is tight/new parts, so I can tell. A few on here I THINK mentioned carefully tightening the nut/bolt on the steering box to remove some slack? | |

| Make sure the box it tight. Takes just a couple minutes to snug it up. |
