There are two locations, one on each cylinder head, between & slightly below exhaust port #s 1 & 3 - driver's side, and #s 6 & 8 - passenger's side head. Remove the 1/4" or 3/8" pipe plug, if one is there. Make sure your ECM is receiving an accurate signal measuring the engine operating temperature from the OEM sender. It is a necessary data variable for all computerized engine management "decisions". Both senders can operate independently on your car.

The factory gages are usually so far off in accuracy, its a joke. An AutoMeter Pro-Comp unit for example is very very good, reliable & accurate. I'd get it! If you mean to compare a good mechanical gage to an equally good aftermarket electrical gage, then you have a valid point. But its NOT like an oil or fuel pressure gage where hot flammable fluids are dangerously routed through the passenger cabin! Its just an isolated capillary tube from the engine's sender to the gage, the electrical wire is there just for night illumination.

OK, I get that. Let us know how it goes, where you routed it, where you go thru the firewall ect...
