| The interior in my Fleetwood is in decent shape. But, I would like to try and redo it. I've seen a lot of people on the impala ss forum do their own interiors. I want to attempt a red/white combination. [img] I know it's a bold move. From what I remember I should use SEM products. If I do it a little at a time and take my time it will come out great. Red carpet available for the fleetwood? I went and checked out Jo-Anns and they have a whole lot of materials there to choose from. Even suede, which I'd like to use for the headliner, a, b and c pillars. I would just dye everything else. Should hold up... I think. As long as I prep everything well. The seats are in rough shape so I'd like to find at least front replacements. I also need a new dashpad because there is a crack in it. Feasible? Am I crazy? | |

| just do it with ease and patience ...... definitely a great budget friendly mod, the classic color combo. ..... get a few test trim pieces from the bone yard to practice on. get a feel for the paint | |

| Jo-Ann's sells vinyl/ leatherette. Pull the dash cover and re wrap it. use a blow dryer to stretch. Use 1/8" foam under it if you want... If I can stretch a vinyl roof on a cozy coupe kids toy, you can do a dash pad. | |

| I could use a red and then just dye it to match the rest if it isnt close.
I do however need a new steering wheel because the leather is ripped at the top. New front seats too because the drivers is ripped and they are both cracked pretty bad.

| Yup You can spray to match or do the dash pad white and the seats red (more forgiving than the white seats) But if your doing suede elsewhere chances are you can match the vinyl to the swede color.
Are the carpets from caprices close to the fleetwood? You might be able to get one to work. I'll keep an eye in the yards for a red FWB. I'm still looking for a FWB dash.

| You'd be lucky to find a FWB with red interior. Theyre super rare, or so I've read. | |

| Better off having the carpet made, even if you found red caprice carpet you'd have to add 6" under the front seats | |

| A carpet from say ebay for a Fleetwood wont work? Better off dying my existing carpet? It's not in bad shape.
Joanns doesnt have much for white material for the pillars and headliner. Thinking maybe just use white vinyl? I dont know I need to get a few things and play around with it.

| I've decided that SEM is a bit pricey and not what I really need. Sure, it's great for matching OEM colors but I am changing everything. Anybody ever used VHT or the Duplicolor line of products? Such as the duplicolor adhesion promoter and vinyl/fabric spray?
I watched a few videos on youtube. Some idiots are using regular spray paint and clear coat. I don't want it to look tacky.

This video seemed informative. I think I'll try this route. I have many interior panels in my parts stash in RI to play with.

| I used duplicolor on my impala door panels and center console. Was coming offafter about a year. Go with SEM. Spend the money, do it once. Also, you can get ACC carpet through summit or eBay for the Caprice/Impala/Fleetwood in any color your heart desires. Usually about $150. Used them a few times with good luck. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-1993-CADILLAC-FLEETWOOD-REPLACEMENT-MOLDED-CARPET-/190318005987?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2c4fd64ee3 And their colors: http://www.miamicorp.com/customer/micorp2/pdfs/cut_pile_auto_carpet.pdf (5 second search, BTW ) | |

| OK, I'll go with SEM. I need to find a local distributor or have some shipped in. I think I'll use the Firethorn Red. Can't wait to begin.... Anybody have a set of red seatbelts from a Roady? | |

| belive it or not rustolium makes a fabric dye. works pretty well to . Did my whole rear except the deck. ty again btw. If you use it dont follow the directions lol. do several light coats and you need a stiff hairbrush to make it soft again. on the leather idk how it will work. but my carpet worked wonders. | |
