Yup. I did it again. Bought another Fleetwood! Very Happy

I was working out of area a couple weeks ago in Brookline, NH and saw this jem sitting along the woodline in someone's yard. I stopped and looked at it and sure as sh!t, it was rust free! I knew it was a snowbird car given to the grandkids that didn't want it. And long story short, that was the case. It needs paint because the factory clear is peeling, but it is a Florida car, 75K miles, loaded, from the original owners! It's nasty gross for sitting for a year, but it started right up and I drove it 20 miles home! Wink

And here are the pics. Because it DID happen!

And yes, you can hate me. Because I bought it for next to nuthin... Wink

So psyched!!!

I know a guy that can fix that hood.

This car wouldn't look nice with NASCAR wheels.

So the plan for it as of now (which is COMPLETELY subject to change at any time) is to clean it up and drive it. Figure out what it needs and fix it. And get the paint situation taken care of. If I flip it, it'll happen bone stock in the spring. If I keep it, it'll probably get tint, exhaust (probably just turbo mufflers with res delete and tips), sewer pipe with a side of hockey puck, remote start, dvd player and headrest screens and maybe some SS wheels. On the fence about lowering it. I really want to keep the floaty ride and vault-like quiet interior though... Smile

As far as the scoobie, yeah I love it and yeah it's running the balls. BUT... The effin thing is getting between 17 and 19 mpg ON THE HIGHWAY!!!! WTF, over??? I was getting almost that in my 2500! Which was the best vehicle I ever owned, and which I sold to buy this thing. So I figured for the 1 or 2 MPG hit, I'll go back to driving something actually useful. Wink So I put it up for sale while it's running great. Before that ticking time bomb goes off. Wink

Supposedly it's sold. Might be gone this weekend. And its sale price will pay for the 2500 with a plow, the rebirth of the Marshmallow and the repaint of the Fleetwood. Probably with some money left over. Wink

So it was a pretty easy choice. Very Happy

There. Beans spillt. Razz

Haha, your so full of it...lol, however I get your point, the 2500 is kicking my ass all week 40 miles a day, but I wouldn't trade it for a car that got 19 mpg either.

13, 14 if I'm lucky at 60 mph all highway... I guess I should drive faster? I could care less about the mileage really, its all a write off, I was just giving you crap.

And besides, you're not all that far away, Steve! And I bet he travels. Wink

That's Bill Sadler's old StealthSS! Very Happy That car lived to over 400K, IIRC, before his son got hit in it.

Bill-
Congrats on a great buy on that Fleetwood. Hope you come up with a nick name as classic as Marshmallow!

You cant go wrong with a Fleetwoot. Amazing clean up you guys did on that exterior. I like your reserved approach to doing some items first and going from there.

Pete

Thanks Pete. Smile And I've actually just been calling her the "Snowbird." If that's not her name, she hasn't told me it yet. Razz

I'm sure you'll find out soon enough that I have quite a history with Fleetwoods. Wink This is my 4th.

I also had a nice T56 DCM impala ss that I recently sold, too.
