Something is way wrong. tuneup? That is almost half of what it should be getting, unless you just have you foot into it. Laughing

You should be seeing 15-17 city and 20-25 hwy. This all depends on a lot of factors. Mechanical condition of car, overall weight, options, summer/winter, gearing. Almost everything plays a factor. Taking off easy and stopping easy. A lot of stop and go is not good for mpgs either. Tire pressure too.

Lots of short trips (under 3 miles)

I think my tires could use some air too.

But I think Paul did a tune up (plugs, wires, opti...)

Also, methinks it's possible that my odometer is way off because my tires aren't stock size...

My speedometer is off with the 295/50s on the back of the car, it's off by like 10MPH when it says I'm going 50! That's why I want to put taller tires on the back.

Full tune up was done. We consistently saw 21mpg avg highway and city, and bout 16 around town. Tires always at 35psi. Never did MPG with the SS wheels, but they're about 2" shorter than stock size

That tire is 2.5 inches shorter than stock.

That means your actuall MPG is probably 10% worse. More like 11mpg.

I know it's a 6.5% difference in speed.
so, I'm actually turning 6.5% LESS mileage?
ugh.

is that right or is it the opposite?

Because the tires are shorter, they are turning more rotations for every mile. As a result, it's telling you that you've gone even farther than you actually have. Therefore, you've actually gone less distance per galon than your calculations show.

So yea, your mileage is WORSE than 12.8mpg.

I get 9%, not 6.5%. 11.5 mpg. That's not that horrendous if you've only been taking three mile trips. Try just going out and back on the highway without traffic for a half hour, fill up again, and see what you get.

tire diameter is 6.5% different.
27.4" - 6.5% = 25.619"

You will need to have your PCM tuned if you want the Speedo to read your 275/40/17 correctly.

Only on TBI B-Bodies is there something physical that needs to be replaced.

A 95' car will be controlled by the PCM.
