| got into the motor alttle more than i wated to but its all done now. pulled the fly wheel to do the rear main seal and found the oil pan gasket had a rip. so i had 2 jack up the motor and pull the pan. cleaned up everything replaced the oil pan gasket, rer main seal, and surrounding gaskets. re tourqed the fly wheel and got the motor bolted back in. when i get home there should be a 3500 stall sitting on my porch and hoping to get the stall and tranny installed tonight. then run my new lines and HUGE external cooler up front.. | |

| Mike, be careful of those cooler hoses, mine split near the inlet/outlet and partially blew out on I-81 in Virginia. I spliced it and later installed hard lines. Can't remember the required PSI for trans lines. | |

| Iam running hard lines from the tranny up the rubber lines are only 2 feet long just to seek around the radiator. | |

Did you by-pass the engine coolant to trans oil cooler in the radiator? They are very effective when used in series with the air to trans oil cooler up front [as in the OEM 9C1]. Of course all reused lines and coolers must be thoroughly back-flushed. Lower line is the converter/lube oil line out of the trans & upper pipe is return back to trans. The pressure in those lines (with no restriction) is very low, and it never gets main line fluid pressure. The main thing is that they can handle the heat and are compatible with transmission oil. Those higher stall converters will definitely cause you to run higher trans fluid temperatures, a LOT hotter if you drive hard. There are also very sharp sheet metal edges that will cut thru rubber hoses as you pass through the radiator support. Also, the 9C1 oil cooler cars were fitted with larger diameter oil pipes than the civi models. Did you delete the converter clutch lock-up feature? I think you are still running a 4L60E, yes? If so, how do you make that work? It looks like you are going to be having a lot of fun in that car, it should be a real beast! | |

| The converter is a lock up converter. And yes I bypassed the radiator part of the cooling system. | |
