| I'm really an idiot when it comes to tires and what all the numbers mean for the most part. I am looking at these rims: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-55-5873/ and want to run a stockish height. What sort of tire size would I need to do that? Someone said 225/70/15 would work. |

| I think 225 would look funny on a 15x8 wheel. It depends on how much sidewall you want, if you want blackwall, whitewall, or white letters. My Impala has 255/60 all around on I THINK 15x8, but I'm starting to get sick of the ride and may switch to a taller black sidewall on a different kind of wheel or something.
I think if you wanted a sort of stock appearance and height you'd want 15x7 with 235/70/15, but it seems not many tires are made in that size now? |

| 255/60 would work so long as the offset is right. The 15x8s I had on my wagon were off a truck and 255s wouldn't fit. 225 kinda stretch on an 8" wheel so it worked. 235/70 is more geared towards SUVs now, and are becoming scarce entirely. Stock size for chevy s10 blazer so most places only stock suv tires in that size.. |

| My Impala has those wheels (in chrome) with the 255/60/15's on the front and 295/50/15's in the back.
I like the 255's all around, too. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut 04 CTS-V -The Big Bad Wolf- 500RWHP, Maggie, Kook's, Magnaflow, etc... 95 White WB4 "GS" -The Marshmallow- Lotsa stuff done, lots more to come... 00 Sierra 2500 ECSB -The Big Slut- H2's & 33's, TB crank, CAI, Magnaflow, Cowl'd, etc... 94 Miata- Project Cone Killer- Manual everything. I'd go 255 as well. They fill out the wheelwell nice. I complain about the ride, but I've been thinking it's the way my rear suspension is set up. lol
Bill, are these the ones you had that are like the ones on my '74? I meant to ask what brand they were and where you got the derby center caps from, I was thinking of getting those (the plastic ones) for my car to change the appearance this year without buying new wheels.
Saw these, but on some sets I've seen them say they only work with the 4.75 bolt pattern, and that people say they fly off on the highway.

I could have sworn we were talking about these on the forum before but I can't find the thread! |

The Box cahs use 4.75...
I have seen them on 5x5 cars though of course so I didn't see why the caps wouldn't work... |

| Wheel Vintiques. I think I got the set of 4 caps through summit for like 60 bucks... Let me look... EDIT: Here they are as a single, $18.95 each: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WVI-1013-1/ But I'm pretty sure you can get them in a set of 4, too, if you look a little harder. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut 04 CTS-V -The Big Bad Wolf- 500RWHP, Maggie, Kook's, Magnaflow, etc... 95 White WB4 "GS" -The Marshmallow- Lotsa stuff done, lots more to come... 00 Sierra 2500 ECSB -The Big Slut- H2's & 33's, TB crank, CAI, Magnaflow, Cowl'd, etc... 94 Miata- Project Cone Killer- Manual everything. I'm really thinking these must be the same thing and the center cap design fits all bolt pattern wheels, but I'm gonna keep looking. You going with Rallys Justin? |

I'm thinking about it, but I never realized how many people have them on their cars. I might go with something else. or just stick with my N97's. I dont wanna look like I copied everyone else. |
