 dome light stays on

PostSubject: dome light stays on   Sun Apr 17, 2011 9:05 pm

i came out to the car the other night and realized the light was on. i turned dimmer started car everything. so i pulled the power lock fuse for now and the light is off but no locks. is this the little switch in door jam?

Hahaha I had the same problem in my 94 Wagon. Like you, my first thought was the switch in the doors. I never could figure it out though, and ended up just driving with the fuse out.

take your gauge cluster out and on the back on the passenger side all the way at the top is a door open warning light, take a bulb from the air bag or other useless light and put it in that hole, put the gauge back in for a minute, open the door and turn the car on. if the bulb lights up, close the door and see if it turns off. mine didnt have a bulb so i dont know if that spot even works. but worth a try before chopping into stuff. and if you need door switches I got em.
