Refinising N97's Empty
PostSubject: Refinising N97's   Refinising N97's EmptySun Apr 17, 2011 10:06 am

Noticed a couple of my N97's have some nasty paint chips, one of them even has some surface rust. I thought about just buzzing them down with a wirewheel and just rattlecanning them. Anyone have a better suggestion or should I stick with that? Should I use wheel paint or will rustoleum (or the Crovo Special Smile ) suffice?

Justin
Hand sand the rust down to the metal with wet 400, while sanding the rest of the wheel. wash and dry, then use duplicolor rust converter on the rust spots. Then a can of black duplicolor black, followed by a can of duplicolor wheel clear. I did this to my subaru, and a couple 9c1s over the years with good results.

Awesome. Thanks Billy. Arrow Do I want to sand the whole wheel down to metal or just the rust?

Just the rust. And if budget allows, get some adhesion promoter to soften the old paint, and help the new paint stick.
