| SO I have been gone a long time, I just sold off the hunk that was once my glorious 9C1, and my Oldsmobile is still bone stock and looking very aged.
However, I decided to get back into the swing of things and bought a 93 Fleetwood last weekend. I am not planning much for the Fleetwood, however it could use some upgrades.
I would like to put my Impala SS wheels on, however I understand the rear skirts need some alteration. Does anyone have a detailed description of what needs to be done?? Also, any caddy centercaps for SS wheels?
Next on my to do list; I have a blown factory shock. I was wondering if it would just be easier to replace all the shocks and springs with boxy bilstein shocks and a stiffer spring from a b-body application. I had Eibach "caprice" springs in my 9C1 and liked them. (IIRC they were about a 1 inch drop from 9C1 springs and were a bit stiffer than stock SS springs). If there is a better option available for the D body please let me know!
Last but not least, any cheap/easy LO5 go fast mods?
Thanks guys! It feels good to be back!

| 2001 deville center caps have the matching emblem and are a perfect fit. | |

| Welcome back, Dan. Good to see ya still around! I loved my Hotchkis/Bilsteins on my old Fleetwood. And just a little time with a dremel (to make the grooves for the handles deeper and shorter) and a hammer (to flatten the release handles) is all you need to clear the SS wheels. Once you have the skirt off, you'll see what needs to be done. Pretty simple. | |

| Bill,
Were your springs taller or shorter than SS springs? I was thinking of using the Eibachs that are essentially slightly stiffer SS springs, however I know many FW guys have gone with 9C1 springs. Do you think I'd have any issues with sagging rear end or bottoming out with anything less than 9C1 springs?
also I hope to have pics by next week.

| I'm hungry... Yeah Dan, it was lowered on Hotchkis springs. Almost a 4" drop from stock. I ran SS springs in it for a while first, and it rode nicely, but wasn't low enough. | |
