| Alrighty, I have a certain set of 17 inch wheels and center caps I would like to have stripped and powder coated. The trick is, I want all of the curb rash gone, is that possible? I remember there was a place mentioned here on the forum. What was is it, and can they get all of that done? | |

| yeah, they do good work, but for the price you'll pay, sometimes you'd be better of waiting for mint wheels to pop up. I have actually seen people repair curb rash with products like Quicksteel, then paint them... | |

| Yea true. Very expensive. $640+tax for the set. A 3 day turnaround isn't bad either, but what are the odds that a nice set of gloss black powder coated SS wheels and caps will ever pop up? Hmm. I've got some wheel shopping to do then. Unless there's a cheaper place. | |

| If the wheels are F'd up in any way, I'd use that Duplicolor Engine Enamel paint that people have been using. From the reviews it sounds almost as good as powdercoat. If you do a Google search a lot of writeups come up in the results, pretty cool.
I was going to, and may still, paint mine black with this stuff, but I would have to pull all the weights off and have them rebalanced again with stick ons, I'm kind of too lazy and cheap to bother. lol

| I paid $100 a wheel for my cragars to be repaired and that included the dismount and remount and balance. Al just had a 20" GM wheel done for like 75 bucks. | |

you want show quality or something that just looks good? Rimpro is a good way to go, but ive done wheels at work before , where we sanding them down, put some filler where its need and then painted them, 100% of our customers never noticed, even the douchie corvette customers....

| I would like to get as close to show quality as possible. For 640 bucks I can buy new wheels and use the tires I have and sell the SS wheels. That's where I'm stuck. I want to keep black runs, but subtly get away from the police car look, at the same time keeping the "aggresive" look all black. I like what I've seen on other b'day with powder coated 17's. The 9c1 won't be my daily anymore, so I want to build on it. | |
