Anyone ever look at this car? I've seen it on CL a few times. If its not a pile of crap, might go check it out.

I took at look at this tonight. 235K miles! Ran & drove ok (for what it is) trans felt ok. Lots of dings & dents, has Astro van wheels on it with good tires, vista roof, new radiator & p/s line. Med blue interior with leather. Sounded like he was'nt going to budge on the price.

http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/2300267051.html

I was going to go look at this tomorrow or Wednesday, but decided against getting anything for now and just saving my money. I planned on selling the Caprice to my father and, if this wasn't a piece, having the damage fixed, then driving it, but who knows what might go wrong?

Guy's email to me:

The car has approx 126,000 on it. I have owned it for about 10 years. I have the wheel w some road rash on it. The spare is on due to a flat. The mirror is not broken, just folded in in the picture. The interior is good, small tear in the driver seat but the rest is good. Everything works. Power everything. Small surface rust on rear quarters but no rot that I have seen.

I think right now I'd rather keep the Caprice, a car I know the history of and that has a pretty clean undercarriage and whatnot than something that may have been sitting around for a while, even it's been parked on pavement. Owner also told me that someone is coming to look at it so I could come by after that, I'm like why bother coming after someone else, either they'll buy it because it's a good deal or walk away because it's not! Laughing

I should just do an LS swap into my car. Or bolt a big dummy supercharger to the hood.

Yeah, I also just realized I have to pay my exorbitant Reading rent today. LOL

I'm sure all that body damage would be like a grand of work to fix, then who knows what else, you know? For 2K I could get a "nice" 9c1 or a Fleetwood, or a Roadmaster I think. I want an SS, but I really need to stop being manic.

I see SS's popping up all the time. It looks like no one is being able to sell them anyway from the constant rotation of cars I see on there, so I'm sure there will be some of them around later on... Laughing

Hi, I put my car on craigslist and somebody referred me to this forum.

(Pictures on craigslist ad)
http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/2311802750.html

1989 GUN METAL GREY Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham.

I've put in a new Radiator, Alternator, and Battery. ($350+ of parts)
Interior is amazing, non-smoking, the cruise and radio work great, heat, etc.
Drives like a knife through butter.
Car is INSPECTED, NO RUST, body is amazing.

Issues:
1.When you stop and then turn or roll, car squeals a little. I think one of the belts might be too tight or it needs some power steering fluid. (Very minor)

2. One of the tierods is bent, so it steers to the right a little. Very easy fix, I have the parts to fix just haven't had the time to do it. (Only $50 worth of parts).

3. My friend that is a mechanic looked it over and told me the water pump has a little play in one of the bearings.

Reason for selling: I have a 97' saturn sl2 that is my daily driver. It's a manual and something with the linkage/or clutch is freaked up, and I don't have the money to fix.

I don't want to sell but I need the money for school/to fix my other car.
I listed ALL the issues I've had with the car because I'm a nice guy. I'd rather sell it to someone who is going to take care of it and enjoy it.

Price is $1350, but I'll take a reasonable offer.
Give me a call if you're interested, 603-903-3932.

P.S.
Thanks for letting me post on your forum.

...... nice car..... love the name.... Arrow

Ahhhh! Avoid that man! He's a crook!

I know someone who is in the same complex as him as well, and apparently the guy was being evicted from his shop or something like that. He probably paid 200 bucks for that RMS.

I was thinking it was Justin that knows that guy and it was you, Matt. He is a real jerk, I have talked to him on the phone.

Haha, I think my sarcasm detector was down. He is a jerk. His name is George Phillips, but it almost seems like it's a pseudonym he uses so shafted and disgruntled customers can't find out where he lives and burn his house down. He's about mid 30s and thinks he's on the Jersey Shore from what I've seen of him. Normally I wouldn't badmouth someone but seriously, there are tons of people out there who know this guy's a piece of excrement, it's uncanny to think about how someone can run a business like this instead of using repeat and referral to get people coming back for more cars.
