Wagon Rookie Empty
PostSubject: Wagon Rookie   Wagon Rookie EmptyMon Jan 03, 2011 10:15 am

The wagon tailgate doesnt open.
How do I get into it?
I'm assuming there's an access panel back there where I can pop the glass & then open the gate
....is that correct?
I have 1 arm for now & there's an extra rear seat thrown back there
so I'm just taking the easy way out & typing instead of tearing into it.
Thanks

Glen is correct!

Steve, do you mean the button inside, does not pop the rear window? The rear gates can be temperamental. Try unlocking the rear window with your key. I think you turn it all the way to the right. It will pop the glass and then you can open the door.

Tom

Wagon FOR SALE....

I'm not dealing with these wagon AHoles.... Razz

Justin told me the rear glass doesnt open.
I ASSUME the glass needs to open BEFORE the gate will (as Tom just confirmed)
I'll figure out how to pop the glass
Thanks
I go to the DR. in an hour.
I'll ask him how long I can use this excuse for.
Until then, please duct tape your best arm to your body to feel my pain... Razz

If the glass won't open you'll have to remove the tailgate solenoid from the inside which will be a pain to do. Does it not open at all or just not open by the button?

Did you actually try the key in the popper button on the gate? Turn it and the glass should pop. Pretty sure that bypasses the "popper" and pops it manually.

If not, you need to try and remove the plastic panel, and it may be damaged during removal while closed. There is 2 small screws on each handle at the top of the gate and you can remove those. Then the panel itself has a couple screws on the outer edge of it. Two in the middle and two at the lower corners, IIRC. There are also a half dozen screws at the top of the panel that go in from the glass side though. Good luck on those. That's why I think the panel will be broken during removal.

Wait. You live in Ma. Break the glass. It's free replacement. Wink
