spent the afternoon working on a co-workers car (2000 kia)
did an oil change and patched a small rust hole to pass inspection.

the thing im still having trouble understanding is.
they produce the cars with such thin sheet metal that its rotting
away at 80k miles.Razz
then i go to change the oil, grab a 13, 14 15mm wrench and crawl under
the car. no luck.... finally found the right wrench a 19mm Shocked

perhaps they should of over engineered a more important part of the car.scratch

oh well it was an easy $100 bucks, and hes bringin it back in a month or
so to fix the rest of the rust. Very Happy

Sweet, I sure hate those Korean cars. The carpet reminds me of the carpet in the draw that comes out of the dash in my roadmaster LOL.

Those cars are originally designed for the driving habits of the people in the country it came from. Japanesse drivers are small and drive short distances so the early Japanese cars didn't work well with fat Americans driving the interstate. Koreans drive few miles over the course of a year and have little to no snow, which means their cars don't need to stand up to our conditions. Eventually those manufacturers start designing for the American audience and you get stuff like the Genesis and Ridgeline. Kind of like going to England and seeing that Caprices would be god awful cars to drive through London.
