I have never had TV in my home. So I guess that makes me conspicuously "out of the loop" on American popular culture. However,,,

Watching that (%*#@&$) made me feel more disgust, contempt, nausea, shame, loathing and dishonor than mere light pixels behind a glass screen have a right to.

I hope everyone in this group felt like booking airline tickets to what ever HELL-HOLE this pernicious ooze was extruded from, and with absolute and justified immunity from all laws forbidding the ownership and use of full automatic weapons, and with extreme prejudice, proceed to mow down every last IMBECILE responsible for this broadcast GARBAGE.

If this filth is what this country's masses enjoy, then the Great American Experiment has catastrophically FAILED.

I gave up any hope of enjoying main stream "car shows" when years ago I happened to witness some pathetic episode following a team of fools frantically trying to finish some grotesquely stupid car project while working against a totally ludicrous time frame.

There, I feel a just little bit better now, thanks for listening!

That show is great, not as good as the BBC version but close. If u guys want to be pissed at someone for wrecking cars, be pissed at the c4c program. Not a tv show. You should watch all of the episodes they have some real fun.

i agree with no moa.... its way better than motor trend crap or some douch with a porn stash talking bout nothing..... these guy actually beat the shit out of cars and push them to there limits, not just run them on a track. Watch the episode where they run an Evo down the ski slope....awesome

picture them trying that experiment with an integra, del sol and accord wagon, the show would be 15 mins long.... and no one would even tune in.....

I rather watch some assholes have fun then some liars "fooseing" together a car......

I really just hate how they say they love these cars and want to bring them back but they really just like to play smashup derby all the time. People with a passion for cars save em before they crush em.

The english guys do it too, and they are guilty. But it doesnt seem like they do it every episode. I'm sure a toyota lover hated them dropping a good condition truck off a friggen building. I bet they were proud too though, am i proud of Buick? yes! GREAT CAR! Was it necessary to destroy that car, a perfectly restore-able cutlass, or a clean fiero? NO, not at all.

I have an nObama sticker. C4C was the worst thing that ever happened to the average american teen looking for a cheap used car. It also was something that ruined many soon to be collector vehicles and some already highly desired cars...ever read the numbers for the cars. A few 96 caprice wagons, a GNX, plenty of third gens that were begging to be your next drag car. I hate both the show and any program that deliberatly destroys good cars so that the previous owner can boost the US economy by buying a new toyota Surprised

How do you know those cars were clean? My neighbor had 4 of those fieros, a formula, a gt and to regulars. They were not much, one of the scariest cars I'd ever been in.

The cutlass, had nice wheels, and a ok paintjob. Surely done to make it tv-able. The roady, 94, probably had 900,000'miles on it. But the fact that they stuck 20,000 pounds of water in it, and it drove, then drove back to detroit , it a testiment to those cars. I think it's awesome.

Awesome it can do it? yes. Awesome to watch. Absolutely not. I hate demo derbys and any show that promotes destruction of cars. Rusted, perfect, US or foreign. If you take apart a car, "destroy" it, I would hope the parts you take are being used to save another. I just dont like to watch perfectly useable cars be destroyed.

And why couldn't they actually save them, like they were talking about at first. LS7 Fiero...SICK! Kind of like the LS7 solstice HOTROD magazine built.

I just don't like the mindless destruction of cars, thats all. C4C, Topgear, or billy bob at the demo derby. It's wasteful.

Well then good, I'm glad at least someone had a brain. But what about the cutlass with the holes in the roof or the fiero? Maybe I just don't understand the fun in wrecking cars. all in all, what I should have simply said was this show was not for me.

I dunno, I tend to agree with Glen that the Cutlass was a clapped out everyday POS. If it were a B-body of the same vintage, I'd be pissed because those are much more hard to find, but still, if they are gonna ruin something, that must've been a 2K piece of rust with bondo and a Maaco job. My old 74 Impala looked a thousand times better than that Cutlass when I got it, and you all saw in my pics how that car turned out a few years later!

I think the show needs some retooling, but s'not that bad. The British Top Gear pisses me off about the same as this one does. If anything it brought some positive exposure to the Roadmaster...hahaha

I won't be watching any of this stuff so I guess I could convince myself that its not going on. I am with 1984twodoor on this issue. That Cutlass was in excellent shape even for a much newer car, but forty years of preservation was defiled by these callous fools. Even the other two cars were VERY nice. The real problem I have with this kind of thing is how they exploit the power of TV and the unconscionable misuse of its awesome potential in the hands of a frivolous dumbed-down hollywood pack of losers. These things actually have a powerful effect on how the public thinks.

I am worried about a public that is not the slightest bit interested in the celebration of good constructive respectful advancement toward a United States as a superior engineering and manufacturing superpower. What does this say about our great country who celebrates the destruction of its own heritage?

How does this inspire young folk to aspire to grow up and at least appreciate how much engineering and craftsmanship goes into the manufacture of every part in a car? You could spend a month just taking a walking tour observing American men and women designing, tooling up for, welding, casting, machining, forming, soldering, injection molding, painting, and assembling one car. Wreck one American car and the chances are, two foreign cars roll off some boat onto our shores. And what of the jobs lost here on our soil?

When the C4C debacle unfolded, I made a big stink about why they couldn't just donate those perfectly good cars to needy people, through churches, charities, etc. I mean what insanity!

PS. I still have my first car, a 1968 red & black Oldsmobile 442 4speed, and that green Cutlass was in WAY better condition than my car is.

Lol "the cutlass was in great shape" I don't know if u watched a different version of the show than me, but there was NO point in the show you got to see the underside or even the engine, interior, other than a missing headliner,I don't believe everything I see untill I have seen it all top to bottom.

Hey....what can you do? Lots of good stuff gets junked everyday, cant save em all.
I understand the feeling though.
Everytime I see a carrier with crushed cars on it, it I see parts that couldve been saved.
Its the car guy in you, that knows the value of having that part.
Good news is....at least we save our share of B-Bodies.

If it runs, drives and isn't rotted the hell out I don't see why it shouldn't go to someone to save it. And If it gets crushed, make sure some of the good parts have been used first.

Someone would be looking for a nice driver and they can't afford a pebble beach vehicle, but they could get that Roadmaster or cutlass or fiero and do a few things to make them happy. Why destroy it. Thats all im saying. Like the show or not, i just don't support vehicle destruction.
