March COTM Empty
PostSubject: March COTM   March COTM EmptyTue Mar 01, 2011 3:20 am

I think it's cool I got March because I was born in March. On the 1st in fact. It's also the month that I bought my '94 Caprice two years ago.

Let me tell you all how I got into these big american behemoths. It all started back when I was younger. My dad and all his friends each had a 70's cutlass. Much like us and our B-body friends, they would meet at each others houses to have a cook-out and to upgrade and modify their cars.

Naturally, my first car was a Cutlass. It was a POS.

I had a list of cars I was thinking about. On that list was a 91-96 Caprice.

I bought the first one I found and then spent lots of time reading the Impala SS forum gaining knowledge.

It was all banged up but I enjoyed it.

These seats didn't match but I didn't care. I had bonny seats!

Here are some other B-bodys I've owned over the past 6 years. I'm sure you can tell what they are from the pics!

OK enough of that.

Now to my current B-bodies.

The Car of the Month is my 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic LS.

I bought this car in March of 2009. I was working at a used car dealership as an Internet Sales Manager. I was just checking out the lot when somebody pulled in with this Caprice. From a distance I thought it was a '93 but it looked clean. A few days later it was back, as a trade in on a different car. I looked it over and it was a fully loaded '94 with an L99 in my favorite color combination. I put up my white and grey '95 Caprice for sale on craigslist that day and sold it as soon as I got home from work! The next day I brought home the '94.

It had 120,000 miles and the reverse on the transmission was going out. I scored it for what they gave the guy for trading it in.

I got rid of the alloy wheels up front and the steel wheels with snow tires on the back. I put on the clean steel wheels from my '95.

9c1 center caps. (Thanks Mark)

2.5" exhaust

Celebrated Earth Day with an LT1 swap. (Thanks guys) I did some other stuff under the hood too after the engine swap.

As you have seen in my sig this is how my Caprice sits today.

Future plans are transmission/stall, headers, ported aluminum heads, cam, rear end rebuild.

As for appearance it will mostly stay the way it is now. I would like to get ahold of some SS wheels and have them either PC'd or painted black put on the car and lower it.

It should look something like this.

The car has been in storage since September.

To ease the pain of not driving my '94 I have this '96 9c1 for daily driving duties. I plan to keep this car stock. You never know I might throw an LT1 in it and a factory dual exhaust. I would like to keep it quiet.

That's all let me know what you think. Very Happy

Thanks guys.

I kept this strictly B-body related. Besides b-body cars I have owned others. I felt this was long enough without including all the FWD GM cars I have owned. Smile
