| Do any of you guys do any bodywork/ paint on the side (professionally)? Im getting ready to tear the caprice down and I would love to get it stripped and repainted this year, without going BROKE! I took it to one local shop, and they claim because it has the original paint (laquer i guess?) that it needs to be completely stripped to bare metal before it can be prepped and painted??? I don't know a DAMN thing about paint, and I really want the car to look good next season, But i can not afford the 4k they quoted me! So any suggestions? Anybody interested in making some side money that has some pretty good attention to detail? It doesn't need much body work (few ding repairs....absolutely NO rust). Hope someone can help! Thanks. | |

| lol.....I hope this doesn't require application with a roller......
I feel like I could probably handle the job (have prepped and painted small fiberglass piece and etc. I even recently purchased a matco gun, but im far from talented lol), but I really would like to have it done right lol.

It doesn't require a roller but it can be done with one. IMO a lot of wet sanding and polishing can make for a nice job (with nonmetallics) . Someday I'll finish my Camaro hood that has rolled on Rustoleum.
