PostSubject: How universal are fuel pumps?   Fri Oct 29, 2010 5:48 pm

I need to upgrade mine to handle the LS draw, which looks to be about 58 lbs. I did a quick look around on pumps and it's a little overwhelming having never bought one before.

Are they somewhat universal?
Do I need to buy one for my specific application? and if so, who sells higher rated ones?

Sorry, being kind of lazy here rather than doing the research myself online, but I don't really have the time and I figure some of you guys must know.

Looks like I will be needing about a 60 lbs one for the stock tank and I will be using the vette filter/regulator to keep it at 58 lbs and send the rest back to the tank.

Thanks guys, I promise updates on the LS build after the weekend, going to hit it hard tonight and Sunday while the wife if out of town, want to try to get it fired before the 6-month warranty runs out!

Doug

Where the Hell you been??? You get married and we never see you anymore? How's married life? How's the new business?

And you want a Walbro 255gph pump. Thunder Racing sells the pump and hotwire kit and everything.

Work is good but has been kicking my ass and taking up all my time, I still lurk around here daily though Smile

So that setup will handle my 58 psi needs? Schweet, I like that is comes with a whole new harness and all, I will order it as soon as I bring in a few more bucks from parting things out....

Updates will come soon!

Well, as luck would have it Rich had just replaced the fuel pump in the 94 this spring with the exact pump recommended AND has the harness as well, never installed....SCORE! Totally going in the 96!

Awesome, I really should go hunting tomorrow and buy a lottery ticket with that luck!
