| **Cell Phone Pics** sorry Finally picked up a transmission(off No Moa, thanks again!) Slow day at work today, cleaned the Pan, changed the filter & gasket. Also changed the seal behind the TC, the pinion seal on the tailshaft, and the seal for the tailshaft housing. Old trans., and how I feel about it// You can see the new trans. in the back, sitting on a tire lol. This is why I didnt put the new one in yet. Coolant crossover steam tube(or something of that sort). Definitely where my coolant leak is from! Ordered the part today.. And some bragging pics of the underside, for those who havent seen it. floorboard, orig. brakeline, and some paint on the frame still! body mount, bottom of the firewall, pass. side Maybe some more pics tomorrow.. -Paul | |

What I THINK happened was, i put them on the floor for whatever reason and one of the kids swept them up.. Because I dont have ANY clue how just those 3 would disappear..

It's about time. It's also about time I put mine in too.

| Update: finished it up today! So far so good! Shifts beautifully, no shudder from the tc when locked up, great downshifts! One area of concern though.. from a stop, its a dog! Before, even with a bad pump, if I hit it from a stop the r/r would roaat.. now, the car jus goes as if im giving it half throttle?? One of the guys at my shop said 1st gear out of the ss may be lower than the wagons, but I've never heard/read that?? Any ideas? | |

Sounds like a shift solenoid is not working. The tranny may be starting off in 2nd. Does it go into od on the highway? If not it could be a solenoid. Try manualy shifting from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and to 4th and see if it drives and shifts normal. This may have to do with the year difference. From the big forum To put a ’94 4L60E into a ’96 car: The ’96 tailshaft housing and VSS must be installed on the ’94 4L60E before the trans can be bolted into the car. No other mechanical or electrical mods necessary. The PCM must be reprogrammed with ’94 transmission base code to avoid setting a silent code (Check Engine Light (CEL) does not illuminate, but code stored in memory). Trans will operate normally without reprogramming. The silent code (code 83) may inhibit TCC lockup, but I have not verified this. Three potential fixes (any one will work); 1. reprogram PCM so it doesn't look for the PWM solenoid, 2. swap the '95-96 harness into the car ALONG WITH the PWM solenoid connected but leave the solenoid in the pan, 3. wire up a manual TCC lock switch by which you can lock the converter. To put a ’95 4L60E into a ’96 car: The ’96 tailshaft housing and VSS must be installed on the ’94 4L60E before the trans can be bolted into the car. Technically, the 3-2 downshift solenoid should be swapped also, but experience shows that it is not required. |
