| By mid October my car will be gone. If it's not sold it's going to the scrap yard. I'm going to strip the roof this weekend and assess the damage. Basically it's a car that could be roadworthy fairly easily and would make a decent winter beater, or could be cleaned up and make a fairly rare boxy to cruise in. For those who don't know about Olds engines.....all the Olds v8's are based on the same block but with different deck hieghts and bores. That means you can swap in a 455 and it'll just bolt right in without any issues. The exhaust manifolds will be slightly higher which means you'll need to adjust the hookup pipes a bit, but that's easy work for any exhaust shop. So onto the info for those who are now dreaming of a big block boxy.
1984 Buick Lesabre sedan It's a 2 option car (engine and A/C) Olds 307 small block v8 200-4r automatic with overdrive Manual everything, so it's just about as light as a boxy can get Factory A/C Around 90k miles Runs fine Body is mostly clean Interior is in great shape for the age (headliner is gone, rear sail panels need to be recovered, backseat has a torn seam)
This car as is will not pass an inspection. It needs a little work before the safety guys will let it have a pretty new sticker. For an inspection it needs:
Exhaust (leaks where the guy before me cut out the air tubes to the cat) Brakes (have calipers and pads available) Brake line redone (I did a temporary fix, but It needs to be tucked up to the frame better) Body work (lower quarters need patching, an easy fix on these cars) Windshield
To make the car really nice it'll also need the A-pillar fixed when the windshield is out (I was quoted $300 at a dealership body shop so you may get it done cheaper), as well as a new drivers front door (North Smithfield auto has one in the correct color for cheap money). Then some bumper fillers and paint and this car will be show worthy.
I'm only looking to get $500 for the car since that's a fair price for a sub 100k mile boxy that runs well and doesn't need a ton of work. I'll be willing to bring it to you if you're within a reasonable driving distance. For those who are debating on grabbing a project car......If you pick it up by the end of September I'll let it go for $450.

| Change of plans.
This car is gone by the middle of October. $400 if you come pick it up. $450 if I have to bring it to you or meet you half way.

| Let me know when you're free and I can swing by your place. I'll be free tomorrow evening and all weekend. I'm thinking of stripping the roof down Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon if you want to see it in it's full glory. | |

| I was just mentioning the brockton show the other day. I thought we missed it this year. If you want to see it Monday I can swing by that way you have more daylight. No point trying to look at a car in the dark and it's getting dark early lately. If you would rather tomorrow evening then that's fine too. I'm pretty easy to schedule around since I'm usually free and live 10 minutes up the road | |

| I may be picking up my new ride tonight/tomorrow. With that said the Buick must go. I need the money for registry expenses, plus I can't have 2 cars at the same time.
I'll take $350 for the car and it must be gone by Monday. On Tuesday morning it goes to the junkyard so that I can get my new ride on the road.
Last chance before it's gone for good

| Nothing yet. I'm heading up to check it out in a little bit. But I get first crack at it before it goes on ebay in the morning for way more than I'm paying Back on topic. Last chance to own a boxy that runs/drives and has a pretty solid body and chassis. I'm selling it for scrapyard price so you can't go wrong. if it doesn't suit you after a while you can scrap it and break even. | |

| Ok Brad. You have already gave us a hint to what you bought, and have mentioned it in three threads. So what the hell is it? By the hint, I would say a B-body 94-96, D-body 94-96 or GMT800 |

| You'll know as soon as it's on the road, because it needs a little bit of touch up work on the nose. Seems the leading edge of the hood is a bit crusty crunchy | |

| New ride isn't a secret, but I won't say that it's mine until the registration and title have my name on it. No need to jinx myself. Those who've dealt with the Mass RMV can understand.
For right now it's the puddle maker that's taking up alot of real estate

| For those who live in Brockton you may now view the car at your liesure at Everetts Auto on Thatcher St. On a side note An '84 Lesabre with no options, a 307/200r4 with plastic inners and aluminum intake weighs in at exactly 4,000 pounds. It was a hair under 4,200 with me in it which equates to 4,000 by itself. That was with an 1/8 tank of gas. So I walked away with $343 which is pretty much what the final selling price was. Just so nobody thinks I'm overcharging for my stuff | |

| manual windows, mirrors, locks, seats. Full cloth bench in front without any back adjust. It must have been carried over from a truck line or something. Only options were the 307 and A/C. The 307 is a heavy motor being that it's an Olds iron block, but it had the aluminum intake and plastic inner fenders which shaved off some of the weight so that it balanced out. | |

| The car weighed in at 4,160 pounds and that was with me in it and I'm about 190. So not as light as I thought but it was still alot lighter than it could have been. My new boat is alot heavier | |
