iam thinking of doing the t56 swap this winter on my 96. how much of a pain is it to set up? and is it worth it? tring to figure out if i want to do it..

Bill Crovo has done it twice, and is the man to talk too. Ron "Iceman" as well as Jason "jayss" have done it too.

Anywho, ill be doing this swap over winter, as my trans. is toast!

You need the F2B kit, the tranny and pedals and all and a weekend. Smile

hey billy, question. When i do the 6speed, how soon after will i need gears& driveshaft? could i put around for few weeks on my one-leg 293s or will the car not even move lol

You could drive it, but I wouldn't do it for long. It'll be doggy, and you'll probably wear out the clutch. You may not even need a driveshaft...

hmm.. i thought i read that if you go with 373s or more you NEED a driveshaft.. ill be doing 410s at the minimum

i drove jay ss's white woody with the t56 and the 2:93's it was fine,. BUT he had a heavy flywheel, and an organic disc, AND the motor was tuned right,. you could roll away at idle just fine,. nice car to drive,..its all in the tuning with a 6spd,.

Yeah, some cars can get by with 4.10's and the stock shaft without a vibration. If it were me, I'd save the $400+ and try it without a new shaft first. Then if I needed one, I'd get one.

FWIW, my Fleetwood didn't need one with 4.56's and 26" tires. Smile
