Does this mean I can have the blue on blue cappy in the background of the pic? Since you're not going to be using it anymore and all Wink

It does not have Recaro seats. I found a probation officer's card inside, I guess it was his car.

No bull, I actually bought this car today. How many people have an ex-mass state trooper car in their driveway?

Sorry I couldn't sell or give away the state trooper car without too much self-imposed guilt. It needs a lot of work and it has a salvage title.

See above on the Recaros but I might have more of those hub caps. Smile

BTW do these cars come with a full size spare? It's really wedged in the trunk well, I can't get it out (at least without letting the air out)!

Details Jim, details...

Where'd ya find it?

How many miles?

What'd ya steal it for?

Why does it not have Recaro seats?

What made you want a 9C3?

What are your plans for it?

Do you want to sell it? Cool

That's a lot of questions for someone to answer that doesn't frequent this forum very often! Smile

And I still haven't washed my car for tomorrow yet! Sleep

OK, I'll try but don't park next to me tomorrow.

Where'd ya find it?
At an auction.

How many miles?
"183,000 low low miles"

What'd ya steal it for?
I think this question combined with the your last constitutes a slight breach of etiquette. Smile

Why does it not have Recaro seats?
I have no idea.

What made you want a 9C3?
Please refer to my new car as the Taxi or the 9C6.
I didn't want to buy it. I made a mistake, I thought I was bidding on another car.

What are your plans for it?
It has mismatched hub caps. I plan to put the Olds hub caps on it and see if there is any snot left in it.
I'd also like to get the driver's door to open.

Do you want to sell it?
Short Answer: Yes, since I didn't want to buy it in the first place.

Long Answer: No, we could use another car in family so someone in my family is going to "buy" it. I'm 4th or 5th in line to buy it from myself so for now I'm back here on this forum.

It's good to be back on badass-of-ne.forumotion.com (that other forum wasn't any good anyway).

Allow me to correct myself.

The Taxi with the siren or the 9C6 with the siren.
Yup that's right, they left it installed.

I'd guess the lock rod is disconnected and the door is stuck in the locked position. Just try to pop the door panel off, reach through, and unlock the door. If you need to break the panel to get it out no biggy. There's plenty of those around so they're not hard to replace.

Sorry, I have decide to keep the police hub caps. You can have the Olds caps if you want. Smile

The door is open and the interior panel is mostly destroyed.

I'm probably going to need all new rotors. What the heck does AutoZone mean by "May have non-reusable spindle nut, may require replacing when servicing rotor"? Are the spindle nuts one time use only?

This car is weird, bigger sway bars, rear disc brakes, tranny cooler, different suspension...

Aside from the big rusty hole in the rear quarter the car is real clean. Does it snow down in Springfiled?
Maybe Bill M. would like to try out my new body hammers. Smile

Jim I think they are talking about how the axle has a groove in it and you use a chisel on the nut to put the edge of it into the groove so it wont back off... if you get what I'm saying.

Here's a pic, it's a honda but maybe this is what they are talking about?

I never drove one but I really like the look. Police Luminas are not very common. I've seen 1 in person and that was while I was in Florida.

There used to be several stationed at the Foxborough state police baracks. They were everywhere during games and events. It was not unusual to see three or four sitting at the dunkindonuts/papaginos parking lot during events.

Although this was a law enforcement vehicle it was not a police car!

#1 said the suspension is a bit stiffer than he thought it would be. He was expecting a nice cushy ride.

I hate this car. Now it looks like it needs a new water pump. That's another $13.99 into this money pit plus the other miscellaneous stuff I bought while I was at the parts store.

Just in case I confused anyone about this car:

Caprice 9C1 ≥ 10 x Lumina
Lumina ≥ 10 X Corsica

Hey Chris I forgot you had that car.

Inspection is done. Time to put on the hub caps, change the water pump, and change the oil.

I have a bunch of little stuff to pick up at hollands; ash tray, b-pillar trim, door lock, air dam...

I'd also like to see if Bonneville seats fit without any trouble.

We should ask if Billy can give us our own section like the Boxy guys got. Smile
I learned on the forum mentioned earlier that the primary fan is on the left and the secondary fan is on the driver's side.

Not knowing if your car has any options but you can put in cruise. the harness should have the conections like mine. Also there is a center console on e-bay that fits prety good.

Good luck with it.

Update:

New rear hub and rear pads today.

A while back I replaced most of the steering column 'cause part of the ignition switch broke. Oh and part of the column is different for for the single key version. The lock cylinders are different length, something to keep in mind for the SS.

And a while before that I finally replaced the door lock. It had a nasty habit of self locking when you closed the door. Twice I locked the keys in the car with it running.

And before that I replaced the starter.

And sometime in between the siren stopped working.

Only had to be towed twice. Not bad.
