OK I have tried both the "pull the pins out fix" & the touch up the solder points on the digital display fix and neither revived it. I will say I noticed 2 burn marks on the LCD when I pulled it out so I do think its toast. Does anyone know of a junkyard that has a few Caprices, or does anyone have an old junker they are parting out? The 3 closest yards on the South Shore at last check had No Caprices Impalas or RMs.

I've got a few. Drop me a PM with your address and I'll send you one. I can't recall which ones are working or not, but I think I tossed all the crap ones. Basically I'll send it to you, if it works paypal me $30. Sound fair?

2 Caps. at Ferris's in Salem. Both have been there for a couple months and haven't really been touched. OK interiors and lots of good body parts. Also a former state police car with plexi divider and like 4 sets of tail lights in it for some reason.

The burn marks on the edges of the display aren't a sign that it's dead. That's a common flaw from the manufacturing process. If it doesn't work and you tried the fix then just do the fix again and then bang the dash harder. Or use my old trick that confused even the great Billy
(remove the plastic lens over the cluster and then you can just tap on the display to bring it back instead of breaking your hand banging the lens)

Doug I sent you a reply. I am fine with that. You will find all the shipping info in the email.
As to the other suggestions I have already done the pushing banging etc.....this display is toast!!
